Garfield steals the show.

SO I don't get yelled at for spoiling the spoiler thread before the movie officially comes out.

The Dr. Strange preview at the end seems remarkably similar to his standalone from the What If?

Not sure if it's because of the emotional drain of the past 2 years or what, but I got the feels for this movie a lot more than I did even for Endgame. I've always been a huge sucker for nostalgia and seeing people return to their roles, and even though I probably haven't seen either of the Garfield movies all the way through, I thought he was sensational in this film, and Toby returned to his earnest, aw shucks, Spider-man splendidly. Taking nothing away from Holland, he really unleashed the emotional stuff, but the other two's appearances were special, particularly talking about Gwen and Uncle Ben.

The scene where the three talk about the weirdest villain they've fought was one of the funniest things ever in a Marvel movie for me.

That was everything I could've wanted.

Also my theater was even louder than for Endgame.

Moments where my theater lost its absolute ****:

- First appearance of Doc Ock and Green Goblin
- Daredevil
- Norman's face unmasked
- "I'm something of a scientist myself"
- "With great power comes great responsibility"
- Andrew Garfield in portal
- When MJ says they'll keep trying till they get the right Peter
- Tobey
- The three Peters pointing at each other
- All three Spider-Man swinging into the moon and landing/posing together
- Garfield saving MJ
- Peter hugging the other Peters
- Credits for Andrew and Tobey

And I mean absolutely crazy. Kicking game winning FG to beat Bama crazy.

Exact same for me, except I'll also add "With great power comes great responsibility." Both times it was uttered, the place just went nuts.

The best, though, was the reaction to Garfield showing up - just absolute pandemonium - but then, like two minutes later, when the audience realizes Tobey is right behind him, and they finally see him, it was so loud my seat was actually vibrating. In fact, for a quarter of the audience or so, it reminded me of the footage of teen girls seeing The Beetles in person. Like, legit SCREAMING, on the verge of tears almost. I've never experienced anything like that in a movie theater.

The loudest cheer, however, was definitely for Garfield saving MJ. It wasn't the longest or the screamiest cheer, but man, that was the game-winning-touchdown level you mentioned.

Just so much fun all around.

Garfield is SO good in this. Like, upstaged-both-Tobey-and-Tom good. And so funny. I was not expecting that all.

The other one I just remembered was when all three Spider-Men are swinging toward the camera, silhouetted by the moon.

Oh wow, that was a massive one. And when they all land and pose.

There's just so many moments.

Also on a personal note I absolutely loved that little snippet of Danny Elfman's Spider-Man theme when Tobey cures Sandman.

This is my favorite Marvel movie ever tied with Endgame. It was so good and I told my wife and was explaining to my daughter this was 20 years of different Spider-Man movie memories all coming back to the surface in one movie together. I told my teenage daughter that my wife and I went to each of those Spider-Man movies all excited and then would wait a few years and see another one and then to bring all of those together in this one movie was just the best thing ever.

Spidey has always been my favorite comic book hero in the books and on the screen and this movie was the absolute best. Great job by all the actors involved with the film!

Right there with you. Second only to Endgame for me, and honestly didn't think anything would ever get as close to touching it as this somehow did.

Also, it was *so* good I'm confused as to how the immediate reaction after the premiere this past Monday wasn't more effusive. Usually, those guys way oversell movies like this, in the wake of the premiere, but this was one of the rare times I can't believe there were actually a few dissenting voices, or those who really liked it but didn't go apesh*t nuts for it.

What an incredible movie! I Andrew Garfield absolutely stole the show and the dynamics between the 3 Spidermen felt... so natural. I totally did not expect the ending to be so somber but it was very fitting.

Easily a top 5 MCU movie in my books and my favorite live-action Spiderman movie. I'd still rank Into the SpiderVerse above this movie, but this is a clear #2.

Our AMC theater in Fort Worth had added a 1:30 AM showing that was almost sold out and I was like man we'd be leaving the theater at 4:30 AM! That's nuts!

That was more perfect than what I could have even imagined. Theater went crazy so many times. So many emotional moments. I hope they all somehow come together again. Maybe the next into the spider verse?

Leave it to the MCU to right the ship with Garfield's Spider-Man. Now that we may have a symbiote in the MCU as well, I can't wait to see what's next.

That was my favorite super hero movie. Spider-Man has always been my favorite hero since I was a kid. This movie was even better than I hoped for. It was really funny and surprisingly emotional.

Did anyone else see the Rogers musical billboard at the very beginning? Nice callback to the Hawkeye show.

I immediately want more Daredevil. I was hoping he would show up in costume.

I was hoping Holland would mention Captain America's shield on the statue of liberty since they may be confused by it.

I wonder if Doctor Strange's spell only worked on Earth. It would be nice to have Thor or Starlord to know Peter Parker in another movie.

It's so crazy that this movie makes the other Spider-Man movies better. It extends the relationship's Spider-Man had with each villain.

Ned's grandma or Aunt asking to have the cob webs cleaned got a good laugh from my theater too.

Overall a great movie. Curious to see how they will deal with Venom. I guess they could have brought back Topher Grace since he knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man. That would have been funny but also terrible too.

One more thing. I really liked his new costume colors at the end. The shiny blue and bright red looked great. I was never a big fan of the Iron Spider suit or the red/black one.

I also loved the scene when they were all at Happys place and Peter's spider sense went off. I was expecting something to come through the windows but for it to be Dafoe having the goblin take over was amazing. Peter could sense Osborn's dark side took control. And then for Dafoe to say "Norman's on sabbatical". Just perfect.

The mid credits scene.
Just…amazing. Audience gasped in our theater when Brock left a little something behind.

My teenage sons were freaking out in their seats most of this movie and our theater was all into it. They are now upstairs I think watching Daredevil and skipping school tomorrow. Nothing better than the tradition of a big blockbuster movie on the Thursday night before Christmas Break and I'm sure we'll watch all 7 movies this weekend and see it 1-2 more times in theaters. This nostalgic release is up there with Force Awakens

"What's an Avenger?" "Is that a band...you were in a band?"

I'm just so impressed how they stuffed this movie so full with characters and fan service, which all worked BUT also gave Holland his most rich and emotional character arc. It was like Infinity War and Endgame combined. This movie was so much fun but also so emotional. They did such a good job balancing it all. I hope it holds up on rewatch, but it's definitely top tier for me from my first watch.

I just can't get over how well they used all the villains. Each one - even Curt Connors - had way more to do than I was expecting. Granted, Connors and Sandman didn't really have significant arcs, which is fine, but Doc Ock, Electro, and of course Osborne, had legitimate, meaningful arcs that made for truly great story. We've never really seen a redeem-the-villain approach like this, and it worked so well and was so incredibly satisfying. Everyone had their moments, and didn't feel cheated at all, and I just can't believe none of felt even remotely overstuffed. I mean, the entire sequence in Happy's condo, with all five villains (with Lizard downstairs) was so damn cool and so damn fun, even the standing around parts. All of them simply being present together, in the same space, and interacting the way they did, carried an energy unlike any superhero movie I've ever seen. I really am in shock at the whole thing.

Garfield's sarcastic/dejected/self-deprecating "Spider-Man threee" was maybe my favorite line reading of the entire movie.
