$9.6 million for No Way Home for the weekend. Now trails Avatar by $11.5 million domestic. By this time next week, it will probably be #3 all-time domestic.

No Way Home hit $759 million over the weekend, leaving it $1.5 million short of Avatar for third all-time.

Also continues to extend a record of the largest gap between the #1 and #2 movies for the year in terms of domestic box office. Shang-Chi is the #2 movie of 202 with $224 million, so NWH is now $535 million ahead of that figure.

As near as I can figure the previous record for that was a $350 million margin of Titanic over Men in Black i n 1997.

Finally saw this on Friday, I don't know if I'd put it in the upper echelon of Marvel movies, but thought is really good. I wish they hadn't given away that the former villains would return, would have made their scenes so much cooler.

As far as the plot holes from Peter being erased from memory, we are talking about movies with talking racoons, alternate dimensions, magic, etc, I'll let it slide.

Another $7.7 million for No Way Home - up to $771 million.

Assuredly it will diminish further when Batman comes out, especially if it's as great as our resident slobberhounds are making it out to be.

But Dr Strange 2 doesn't come out until May 6 - still another 9-10 weeks away. Does Marvel let NWH keep riding until then? Because if so, it'll hit $800 million.

If it's Star Wars, you're the little dog that licks the slobberhound's slobber puddles off the ground.

No, just highly unnecessary and out of left field. Didn't realize that people couldn't get excited for a movie.

If you aren't hyped by the Batman trailers you are broken inside as a comic book movie fan.

I'm going full TC hype mode for it. Been more excited for Batman than anything else since Endgame.

I thought it was funny. I have zero hype for another Batman. But I also want to point out the irony - 2-3 people perma-bumping the thread for an anticipated release still makes more sense than the same guy perma-bumping the thread to a movie that we all saw two months ago.

Meanwhile, I'll continue to be the only guy on this board bumping the Avatar 2 thread.

Carry on.

I guess I've developed a thicker skin the last few months. Sorry to upset anyone who took it as anything other than humor.

What is there to be hyped about? Twilight Knight featuring Zoe Kravitz. Yay

I don't care who makes fun of people bumping Spiderman threads, and I don't want to go **** all over the batman thread, but I am not hyped at all for that film. I'll see it, because well, its the only thing coming out in the near future that doesn't look trash, but I'm not excited at all.

EXTREMELY late to the party here but finally saw this. Friends of mine and the critics too weren't lying, this was so good on so many levels.

Look, Macguires first spider man movie came out when I was like 10 years old. I'm 30 now. I got emotional like a complete dork when he showed up, even though I knew it was coming. Such a great send off for Macguire and Garfield's versions while also tying it into the canon of the MCU.

I haven't read the whole thread but I'm also curious what's next for Spider-Man. I certainly don't want him completely out of the MCU (isn't he the "biggest" hero in terms of name recognition still left in the MCU? Cmon, who was a fan of a lot of these characters prior to the movies/shows?)

Also the Daredevil cameo was awesome. Wish he had been in suit and fighting at some point, but maybe we'll get there.

10/10 can't wait to see it again once my girlfriend catches up on the timeline.

Just finished it for the first time.

It was pretty good and very action packed from pretty much the first minute. I liked the first Raimi Spider-Man movie but didn't have any emotional connection to it. I did love seeing the three Spider-Men swinging together. That was really cool. I think I would put it in my top 10 MCU movies.

But hot damn can Willem Defoe act?!

I did want to add that the best thing about the movie (to me) is that they really captured Peter's selflessness and the suffering that comes with that.

This was one of the most "meh" marvel movies I've seen and I'm a huge fan boy. Loved the first two Spider-Man movies with Holland. I dunno, just seemed hollow and not well put together. Maybe it caught me at the wrong time and i need to go watch again based on everyone but me liking it.

I don't think you're wrong. It did seem a bit hollow and relied on fan service and cool moments to carry a lot of the movie.

Hard disagree. Nearly every major "fan service" decision is in service of Peter's character/arc. That's the main reason why the movie is so damn impressive. They found a way to both honor the past but also use those moments to almost exclusively advance/service the theme. It was remarkably efficient in that sense, where it almost feels like minor miracle how they made it all work and fit together.

Thought it was good, but unfortunately waiting this long to see it, I think I had overhyped it based on the reviews/comments. Still pretty solid.

Finally got around to seeing it tonight, to lead into MoM....which I may or may not see based on what I've read lately.

Anyway, it was really fun to see all the Spidey's and villains together, plus all the cool moments mentioned in this thread that I won't recount. My faves though, were May saying the "power...responsibility" line, and the "you're amazing" bit.

All in all an enjoyable movie.
