Been trying to see this and take the Diesel sons. It's been impossible to get decent seats at the times we want across 3 theaters. Finally decided to stick the kids and their friends in the 1st row and 3 parents in a better row. Was worried about the 6 yo with it being long but he loved it. We all enjoyed it and it didn't seem long or dragging. It was nice to be back in a busy theatre minus the fact I miss Alamo drafthouse. I could have handled a little bit more humor but it was still enjoyable.

My favorite part was De La Soul at the end.

But plenty of other older references to appease us parents taking kids to a movie. It was very well done for what it is.

I'm definitely not a movie critic and don't care to much about plot holes unless it completely takes me out of the movies. All I know is that I took my 7 year old to his first Marvel movie in the theater and his Spider-Man shared a screen with MY Spider-Man (Tobey) and that's pretty damn fun!

Was hoping venom wouldn't still be played by Hardy. My son and I get a kick out him.

$21 million more for No Way Home on Tuesday brings it to $516.4 million, up to #14 all-time.

Here's an extra nugget for you.

Of the top 20 movies grossing at the domestic box office, 14 of them were produced by Disney since 2012 - Marvel, Star Wars, or Pixar - I guess NWH is actually a Sony movie, but c'mon, Spidey's a Marvel guy.

Of the other 6, two are Star Wars properties that Disney didn't own then but does own now - Episodes I and IV, and another - Avatar - it doesn't own, but does have part of a massive theme park dedicated to it.

The only films untouched in some way by Disney then are #6 Titanic, #7 Jurassic World, and #12 The Dark Knight.

Meanwhile, The Matrix Resurrections ($24.5 million gross) is in 42nd place for the year, badly lagging Sing 2 ($54.7 million) which came out on the same day.

Saw this with my 22 year old son this afternoon and man what a great fun movie! I have some Marvel fatigue after Wanda & Black Widow but they are still just killing it.

Goblin & Doc Oc were both amazingly well played. The way they could change their facial expression and vocal tone to represent their two personalities is just awesome.

We need more Daredevil in MCU please, he is awesome.

Great action, humor, feels, nostalgia-- just great!

One small touch I appreciated was the scleral bruise on spidey's eyeball after getting a beat down. You don't see that much in movies outside of boxing movies.

I have no interest in Venom so the mid credit scene was meh.

Moebius looks amazing! I have no idea who he is from the comics world but excited for that one.

Another $20 million at the box office on Wednesday, up to $536.6 million, and now #12 all-time.
It passed Rogue One and The Dark Knight yesterday.
Will pass The Lion King (2019) on Thursday, and get to around $555 million. If it can average $20 million per day on Friday-Sunday, it would pass Incredibles 2 for 10th ($608 million) and be within striking range of The Last Jedi ($620 million) and The Avengers ($623 million)

More than anything this destroys any other movie being able to blame COVID for bad box office.

Sing 2 up to a robust $62 million.
The Matrix Resurrections at $25.8 million, only made $1.27 million on Wednesday.

Finally saw this today.

Wow.

Best. Spiderman. Ever.

Love the way they tied all three series together.

And I want a shirt that says:
"Please Scooby-Doo this ****"

The Matrix has been poorly received so it's not like it would've been some juggernaut. But even still, WB has to be regretting their streaming decision. Surely it would've made more money than this.

Ok, serious concern with the ending. When he walked away at the end, right before Strange cast the spell, he was still wearing the cool Stark suit. Why didn't he just keep it. Why did he sew a cheap new one?

Or I guess, stated differently, just because the spell made everyone forget who Peter was, did it also render all of the Stark tech useless? Why would he go back to the old, boring stuff? I don't get it.

Honestly, I don't think this is far from the truth. My guess is Peter lost everything in the spell... all his possessions, his room at Aunt May's, etc. I think he basically had to start from scratch, in whatever way the spell forced him to, which included a whole new wardrobe, a new social security number, etc.

I think you might be right. Tony's glasses referred to him as Peter in Far From Home, didn't they? So they wouldn't be able to recognize him anymore, presumably.

Actually, I might go the other way now, as this video is a pretty great explainer (and mentions the suit thing)...

This movie made more on its opening night in the US than Matrix Resurrections has made worldwide to date. Oy.

I would love to see a big movie like this spoil NO scenes, lines, or plot points just one time.

That can happen. All you have to do is remove yourself from society from the moment such a movie is announced to the day that it premieres. Shack up in some shanty deep in the East Texas woods.

Granted this was verrryyy early Internet days, but when I got in line for Phantom Menace tickets back in the 90s, the guy in front of me in line hadn't seen the trailers or even the poster. Brave soul. I always wondered if he made it to Opening Night without getting spoiled.

I saw it totally unspoiled, it isn't that difficult really.

Flash's book is also a really big plot hole that didn't get resolved. Did the book disappear once the spell took place?

Skipping the 2nd trailer was such a good decision IMO. I already saw the first, and I knew all the multiverse rumors and confirmed casting.

The main benefit is that I wasn't wondering when Strange would go "they're all coming through and I can't stop them!" all movie long.

For movies I want to be surprised by (and plan on seeing opening weekend) I'll just watch the first trailer and then nothing else. Avoid the movie threads on here and even mute a couple keywords on social media. Then it's pretty easy to avoid spoilers. That's really only a handful of titles each year though.

I went into Infinity War totally cold. Had avoided everything like trailers and threads.

Same for Star Wars, but it was 1977 and there weren't many outlets for trailers and movie news then, and I wouldn't have seen them anyway.

Someone of my best movie experiences have definitely been ones where I had no idea what I was going to see - Fight Club, Matrix, first Pirates of the Caribbean, and Pulp Fiction all come to mind.

I knew zero about this movie before seeing it so everything was a surprise, definitely made it more enjoyable.

I returned to write a shanty about it in my shack.
