1. Rapid healing pain. Superman’s bones & tissues are regenerating at an extreme rate. Although Superman has accelerated healing, it might not be painless
2. Overload of Solar energy
3. Emotional and mental struggle pic.twitter.com/A3WvtcJAb0
I think all of this make him more relatable/human. It's one thing to just be impenetrable and immortal and nothing hurts you and fighting bad guys but if you're suffering fighting for justice, well then, that's what make you a hero.
It's probably just trend timing. We've had the darker look and feel for years now. We were due for a stylistic change.Quad Dog said:Quote:
But I see the vision now, especially in that Fortress of Solitude sequence (I love the 1930s feel of the robots/tech), and I'm absolutely here for it for it as well.
Weird coincidence that the new Fantastic Four has that vibe too.

"I love Superman. I think James Gunn has crushed it. It's got tons of his trademark heart and humor and the action is jaw dropping. It's the Superman I grew up with, so I get choked up when I watch it. I think it's so epic and visually arresting and emotional. The performances are great. It is a five-star movie to me, and I can't wait for the world to see it. Yeah, we're really excited about Superman, James crushed it…
I would say in spirit, it is closer to [Donner's Superman], but it's also a big hunk of epic sci-fi. It has a little bit of what I loved about Guardians of the Galaxy, but it's true-blue Superman. The conflict sources that he uses for inspiration, All-Star Superman and the like are in there, too. It is really a love letter to what has made Superman endure for almost a hundred years. He managed to get it all in there."

Regarding #Superman…
— RJ (@ResonantJustice) May 12, 2025
•Recent test screenings have gone very well.
•David Corenswet was universally praised.
•Everybody continues to love Krypto.
•Guy Gardner was the standout supporting character that got the most buzz from audiences.
•Ending made many attendees cry.
Being straightforward with everyone, I have not heard much regarding fight scenes, Lois, Lex, or the Daily Planet crew.

I only got a sense of the broad strokes. What people liked most and what the main takeaway from recent test screenings were.

A lot of it is in the music callbacks, but man that just hits.
I like that they're taking the classic concept of Superman and juxtaposing that with modern political ideologies to create some of the conflict, much better approach to modernize the character as opposed to the "make it dark" approach of past DCU films. Really hoping this delivers but I'm stoked.

I'm more concerned about Hoult at this point. The best Luthor is always the Luthor who isn't a stereotype. The screaming bald maniac isn't a threat to Superman. The calculating working within the system Luthor is the one that vexes Superman.wangus12 said:
That trailer finally has me onboard. I've been skeptical of Corenswet, but that felt really good
