Otherwise, I don't see how Disney could control their stars' social media or whatever else they say out outside of the Disney ecosystem.

With a reported budget of $270M (which is insane), plus probably another $100M or so in marketing, I'd say around $375M? At this point, though, I'd be surprised if gets there theatrically (again, it depends on how well it holds, though it's not looking good), but with digital/VOD, cable licensing, etc, it could eventually. Again, it's almost assuredly avoided "bomb" status, but "disappointment" is all but guaranteed.

So Disney gets to keep 100% of the box office? I would think the theater owners would find that objectionable, since they typically keep 50%

You're right. Brain fart. Then, if we're only talking theatrically, $650M-ish, which obviously isn't happening at this point. But again, success/failure isn't calculated only in terms of theatrical gross, especially with a name brand movie like this that will license on cable for years, has all kinds of merchandising components, etc.

The "grown ass men complaining" POV is ridiculous.

"Snow White" is not a children's movie. It's family entertainment, which means that parents and children can and should watch it together. Walt worked hard to ensure his films worked on two levels, for children and adults.

At the same time, parents have every right to monitor what their children see -- and believe it or not, to have opinions about that content.

Studios keep a much higher percentage earlier on in the release. The longer a movie stays in theaters, the more the theater gets. That's why theaters make a lot of their money on concessions.

Sorry, I was mistaken...mistook it with "founders". Guys like James Monroe and Alexander Hamilton were 18 and 21, respectively, but did not sign. Thats why the terrible opening weekend numbers matter so much vs. the long-term box office. Generally, theaters keep roughly 50% when its all said and done. Roughly 60% internationally

I have been very clear that my critiques, and really the purpose and essence of this thread, is NOT about the actual movie itself. But to say it's not a woke movie just because it doesn't have non-binary dwarves is kind of silly when the casting itself was woke (DEI hire). And the lead actress forced her way into becoming a super woke and hate filled vessel of wokeness who couldn't keep her mouth shut.

Her rant after Tump won was straight up vengeful and psychotic. Trashing half of the country for voting differently than you just shortly before the release of your hopeful Disney Blockbuster is a bold strategy lol...



But again...read the title of this thread. Want to start a thread about the actual content of the movie itself...go ahead.

If Brad Pitt came out as a neo-nazi shortly before his next blockbuster film, none of us on the right would sit here and wine about you criticizing the movie on those grounds and refusing to see it. LOL, I probably wouldn't hate the movie, and know I wouldn't hate TCTTS. But I vow to never give a dime because there is a certain type of liberal I simply cannot support under any circumstances. Hollywood is virtually all liberal, but I can't give $$$ to the ones that hate my sweet mother and grandmother and wish them the opposite of peace.

True, but I don't think she will ever have children. This girl is a walking red flag that screams, "stay very far away from me, and whatever you do, do not procreate with me". I feel for any man who attempts to have a fruitful relationship with her. I feel for any child who wants to be put first in their mother's life. This type of stuff is my passion. When entertainment and politics intertwine. I love seeing grown men getting worked up by it to be honest. "Hey man, you can only comment on the actual movie itself! Unless it's Sound of Freedom of course!". I love seeing big $$$ liberal investors in Hollywood lose their money because the untamed beast that they fed has hit them where it hurts. There's a lot to love about this if you're just an ordinary American who has had enough of the years of this paycho liberal woke sh**....that really took off when a pregnant woman robbing career felon overdosed on enough fentanyl to kill a small village during arrest and liberals advocated for destroying entire sections of their cities.
