I thought part of the concept was for them to work - not write more stupid reports nobody will read. Elon is already swampified.

After that I'm sure they'll go with even more slimy corporate tactics to get people to quit:

- Move them to a different role they aren't qualified for then fire them for low performance

- Tell them they need to relocate to another city, with less salary due to lower cost of living.


Sucks to be an employee most anywhere in the US currently with the constant threat of an axe being shoved up your rear. Glad/not glad to see these guys go through the same thing we go through.

Yeah. It's not that difficult. I've worked on private sector for 25 years. There's been periods where I did weekly status updates. It's not a difficult thing to do takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Sounds to me like you could send DOGE the same report u send your boss unless they are asking for a different form

Also.....I find it very difficult to believe that in your government job ur working a legit 65 hr workweek unless u are milking the clock because overtime is not monitored

You know there will be quite a few that don't respond because they aren't working nor checking emails. Will be interesting to see how many never even opened the email and are trying to contact HR when their paychecks aren't coming in.

YIKES!!! I worked for an employer who insisted on a weekly 2-part report..."What did you accomplish last week...What do you intend to accomplish next week." And it was serious in terms of remaining employed AND future promotions. Owner's single guide rule as to what really works in business environment..."FEAR" and definitely NOT $$$ as an enticement to do more/better. It was his mantra. Yes...I literally "puckered" every time he entered the premises. The ONLY man I know that might have had "photographic memory". Not a genius, but very, very difficult to challenge. Eventually ran off his best employees...incl., yours truly.

Company no linger exists...was acquired by a major.

The man is deceased now. His obit in Hou. Chronicle was literally a full page...a TRUE narcissist.

We recently had to start roughly logging our time towards each project/task. It was a little annoying at first, but I got used to it. I make a few notes throughout the day on my time and at the end of the day it takes me less than 5min to enter it into our system.

If you've actually been doing real work, it's not a problem.

My employees have to clock in every day from their workstations in-office. Not my policy, but I'm tasked with enforcing it. It has dramatically cut down on excuses for being late, and especially on claims that employees will be "working from home."

This is the same. It'll be OK. Or it won't.

I'm a government contractor. Most of our contracts require us to send weekly reports and we work more hours than our government clients. If you don't have time for it, then why force your contractors to do it?

No one is going to read all those emails. They just want more people to quit.

And is someone is actually paid to read all those emails DOGE should fire them because it's a waste of money

They will likely be ready by an AI tool. Very easy to set up.
