NO, the "goal" is to get them to quit and not pay any severance. The man knows how to save money, as most self-made millionaires do.

We have a weekly business review mechanism and a monthly business review mechanism. We report progress either weekly or monthly depending on the group. We do this with a 1-page document called a 2x2. 4 boxes. Upper left is business progress. Bottom left is metrics. Upper right is observations, risks, challenges. Bottom right is highlights and lowlights.

What you're describing is not outside of the norm.

In many field sales orgs, you have to report your weekly meetings. Pharmaceutical companies have done this forever.

In all seriousness, I love NASA and have great respect for what you do. I would exempt NASA from the coming purge because I think they do a great service for all of mankind.

I would rather gut entitlements and increase your funding than pay for deadbeats. Unfortunately, I do not think I am in the majority of voters.

At least for good or bad, Elon will know whether your job is valuable or not. He won't for some random employees at the US Forest Service.

I work in the private sector. I don't have a company phone or laptop. I answer when I'm asked questions because I value my employment.

If policy says you/he can't get the message, then you didn't get the message. No one will be fired who was unable to communicate or on leave.

I use my personal phone as my company phone…

We have a team weekly management notes due every Thursday by 6pmET. It is a shared doc on OneDrive and you go plug in important things that you think senior management might be interested in or expecting an update on. And then our VP distributes it to the ELT on Friday with all of us in middle mgmt copied. Takes 3 minutes.

I don't but I also perform and don't cry like a little ***** about going to the office.

The feds make contractors do this depending on the contract. Seems like it's fair for their employees to do the same.

It keeps getting better. If you are in the private sector, you have access to email 24x7x365. In the Federal government, not so much.
