Same story for me + 3. No line, only people there. Only 4 votes on the ballot. We stayed and chatted with the poll workers for a bit. I'm thinking Pax wins bigly as his base is highly motivated. No one is chomping at the ready to vote for Cornbrisket.

Yeah I am not too worried about this now. This made me laugh however:

I have no idea/have never heard of 'Socal strategies' as a pollster though.

No idea how true this is, but in one of the least shocking things I have read this month....
Quote:

"Thune asked if Senate Rs are responding to politics ie, Trump endorsements and snubs this week
'It's hard to divorce anything that happens here from what's happening in political atmosphere around us,' Thune said. 'You can't disconnect those things.'"

While Republican Senators publicly claim substantive issues with the bill were the driving factor behind the early vacation, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) acknowledged President Donald Trump's Tuesday endorsement of Ken Paxton over incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) weighed heavily on Republican Senators' minds as they skipped town instead of advancing a top Trump priority as planned.

Hope Trump can primary more of these establishment RINO's who are pissed to see their power dwindling. They like their parties and all the things they enjoy because they bend over for the Dems.

The ball is moving and while the RINO''s were able to stop the tea party, Trump seems to have lasting power. I mean, they tried killing him multiple times and he's still swinging.

This is a Democrat talking point. The same bull**** they say about Collins and others. Republicans have to stop being terrified of the Boogie Man and take our party from the swamp.

I saw the first TV ad today with all of Talarico's cringey comments. Once that is run enough to be seen by most, it'll be a big win for Paxton. Paxton has his skeletons, but Talarico is nuggin futz! I'm so thankful he said all that crazy stuff on camera, so he can't easily whitewash past comments with his twisted truth pastor routine.

The problem is that they all choose to run out of dc every chance they get for 2 weeks at a time. How many weeks a year are the senators out of dc? They already have scheduled breaks and extended holidays time off.

They are elected to do a Job which they are not getting done.

Susie Wiles needs to be working the phones this weekend/next week. Real threats should be made. Remove Cassidy, Tillis, Murk and Cornyn from committees unless they don't get in line on important issues. They will mostly be irrelevant in short order anyway, but the other blow hards need to see what happens next. And Thune should be advised he will become public enemy number one unless he cuts the crap and fires the parliamentarian.

It really shows their character from the get go. They were all about themselves. Not their conservative constituents who voted them in.

Cotton is getting pretty close to adding himself to that list too. There's a lot that I agree with Cotton on, but he is a Thune loyalist and it's showing a bit much lately

I'd like to believe it was "all about themselves". Unfortunately, I'm thinking it's more all about them continuing to curry favor with the Deep State hierarchy. Spineless, feckless and greedy fit all these Rinos, but traitorous can't be too far behind.

I voted at the Austin Recreation Center at 9:15 AM for Cornyn because I think he has a better chance of beating Talarico in the general election, and my top priority is keeping this Senate seat red. There were a few people who came in after me. There were only 5 positions on the Republican ballot. If Paxton wins the runoff, I will vote for him in the general election.

You realize Talarico has zero chance of getting elected in this state? Abortion Barbie and Skateboard Jesus spent over $200m and had tons of national coverage and couldn't sniff a statewide election seat.

By design. Exactly how the Dustin Burrows/Dade Phelan/Joe Straus/Brad Buckley fake republicans do in Austin.

There is a chance. A small chance with a flawed candidate. Look at Georgia and Alabama. Heck Alabama is more red than Texas and they sent a Democrat to the Senate because of the bad Republican candidate. If GA would have run anyone but Walker against Warnock we would have picked up that seat.

Dems didn't have to cheat in 2022 like they did 2020. Walker was one of the worst modern day candidates. Kemp was reelected with 2.1 million votes and Walker only gained 1.9 million.

Walker had zero political experience nor skins on the wall. Paxton has both in droves.

I never thought I would see anyone worse than Paul Ryan.....Thune, Cornyn other "Republican" Senators are just as bad, or even worse.
