I'd take the over on that. Sean Spicer said 20 or 30.

Good riddance to this POS.

Here's the thing -- this Senate has done absolutely squat for the Republicans anyway.

What are they going to do -- not vote on the Save Act? Not confirm Trump judges or appointments?

I'm 100% done with the old guard Republicans who are worse than useless once elected into power. Good riddance.

Tantrum Tillis can only snark. So what? What in the world has the senate done for Trump's requests/priorities all year? Supposedly the Paxton endorsement was a threat/promise Trump gave Thune about nuking the filibuster. If true, once Trump made that threat he needed to follow through, imho.

Cruz is out there claiming it's the end of the world in the senate this year (he's not doing himself/Texas any favors, fwiw), but I just don't really care. The ballroom will get built anyway, and they will have to pass something via reconciliation.

Senate sources say there's a group of four GOP senators whom Trump has alienated Sens. Thom Tillis (N.C.), Bill Cassidy (La.), John Cornyn (Texas), and Rand Paul (Ky.) who could make it tougher to get things passed through the Senate the rest of this year.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said it became clear after last week's fiery meeting with Blanche that the administration could have a tough time moving its agenda through Congress for the rest of this year because of Trump's strained relationships with Tillis, Cassidy, Cornyn and Paul.

"We have a 53-47 majority, if you lose four senators, you're below 50 and you can't get anything done," he said on his podcast, "Verdict with Ted Cruz."

Rand should realize he could be Massied in 2028 if he doesn't get his crap together. Nothing will save Murk next time anyway, and Tillis-Cassidy-Cornyn are on their way out the door.
Quote:

"The administration is creating issues everywhere by pissing off these senators, it's really a bad strategy," said a senior GOP aide.

Senate Republicans feel like they've been under attack from Trump and the White House and are fed up with what they view as a lack of communication from the executive branch and, all to often, a lack of respect, say GOP Senate sources familiar with the dynamics within the GOP conference.

Those 4 senators have been voting against Trump's agenda and hampering him for years. The next two years can't be worse by alienating them. RINOs are worse than Democrat spies because you can never tell when they will strike. They are all political manipulators for personal profit.

Just voted for Paxton in Galveston County. Only person voting at the time. Chose Chip Roy too, and I live in Middletons district.

Don't ever count out Murk. Remember she won re-election one year as a write in candidate. Even though AK is red it leans more libertarian than deep conservative.

The reality of the situation in Texas for the last 30 years is that traditional liberals cannot get elected in the general election in Texas. So what results is that traditional liberals run as republicans in the primary pretending to be as conservative as they can. The democrats then are left with only running mostly socialists in the general elections like Beto and Talrico that have almost no chance of winning.

So if the liberals get elected in the general election, they then vote as liberal as possible in a manner that gives them plausible deniability for their actions (or failure to act) on critical conservative issues. This usually manifests itself as voting conservative on issues that aren't important or are not close.

Cornyn was a political science professor at Midwestern State University prior to entering politics as a candidate. Cornyn has voted like a political science professor as our senator for 20 plus years and attempted to hide his liberal views so that he can win the primary every six years. I don't have to listen to his words to know how he really feels, I can just see his actions on the votes that are actually at stake and when his support is really needed. His support isn 't needed when the vote is unimportant and or if the outcome isn't really in question. But when the outcome is in question, he's not reliable as a conservative. See his his censure by the republican party of Texas.

Finally, we have someone that can beat him in the primary and vote conservative on the close, important issues.

I think the repeal of ranked choice voting/open primaries will doom her. We'll know in November I guess, but I think it passes comfortably.

She's much more of a 'known entity' at this point vs. 2010. Everyone, including Alaskans knows she is a closet Dem. And the Dems will really run someone against her, because they can't resist.

Her not endorsing Senate is not shocking, but I think it says volumes that with all the crap they keep dragging Ken through for this that she won't even endorse his opponent.

I think we will have another scandal pop up with him in the next 6 years. He keeps getting away with things and people like this usually don't learn their lesson. When Trump leaves office he won't have that safeguard.

It's safe to say we know what we are getting with both.

They both have a public track record, politically speaking.

And Paxton has clearly proven to put his money where his mouth is in regard to conservative positions and taking action there upon, whereas Cornyn has not.

I think we will have another Trump-type vindication for Paxton in the next 6 years. When opponents keep getting away with BS lawfare, well, people like that don't learn their lesson. They keep riding the lawfare train until they are totally and thoroughly exposed.

If many of the libs running as R's just to get elected get exposed for the total BS they pulled on Paxton, hopefully that will REALLY turn our Texas house conservative.

I'd be good with Paxton 52.4% - Cornyn 47.6%

That way I make $1000 on Kalshi.

Granted, I'll make money as long as it is under 15%, but the 0-5% is where I have the bulk of my money.

Cornyn had numerous opportunities to pivot, and wouldn't. He has no one to blame but himself.

I think the longer he stayed in office with the 'Well at least he has a clean image so he'll keep winning' excuse, a Dem was bound to exploit his meekness in defending conservative policies and make him look like Romney.

Not really.

He didn't protect the citizenry from Abbott usurping powers not given, during COVID's stupidity. For that alone, I wouldn't vote for him, if I were voting at all. And Cornyn is a joke.

Either way, Texas gets a PoS as a Senator.
