Its really not. During Covid people were getting cancelled left and right for posting things the government deemed misinformation (most of it wound up being the truth). People are getting cancelled now for spewing vile because they want to dunk on someone that can't stand. Many of the people in question are in positions of authority.

That's the catch-22 here. They are humans, and rather advanced ones -- not different. But of a low order of independence in the sense they clearly don't think independently. When you just regurgitate what Politicians, Academia, and the Media tell you, you are almost just a directed animal. None of those three get heavy benefit of the doubt at the gate. But something about the Left especially gives maximum credence to something other than their own personal experience and encounters -- -you can tell by the constant repetition of phrases like `orange man' and `fascist' when they probably never heard about things like the Paris Commune and the reactions they provoke because all the LEFT-dominated Academia does is teach a simplistic view of Nazism, and doesn't even much cover true fascism.(By simplistic, they leave out Marxism's role in triggering it)

Yet many of those Left are actually smart, and intelligent in their fields and even constructive. What they are never are is wise because that requires self-reflection and own analysis -- "download thinking" such as believing The View or MSNBC by default is not one's own. So yes, this shows how Hitler was able to lead so many down that path --- they never stopped drinking in the `downloaded thoughts' or `spoon fed' ones enough. It doesn't help that not everything Hitler was talking about had no basis--- Marxist really were engaged in cultural erosion there as they are here.

Put all that together and you get what happened. Covid and the Biden disability admin showed the true sheep mentality of so many, and the utter wickedness of the MSM to run interference for lies. The only thing that can save the Left from the pit headed for is stop listening so much to: Politicians, Press, Professors. All three are getting well off lives at their expense peddling lies.

The Right has its share of people listening too much to talking points (the automatic acceptance of narratives about such as Saddam are past examples) and some of the liberal goals, but its not as severe for the same reason the right is so bad about walking in lock-step. Most of them keep looking at many different things rather taking what Hannity or such says at face-value robotically.

What i mean is a short time ago, people were being canceled for not adhering to, participating in, or speaking out agaisnt progressive ideology and policy.

I dont disagree, but this started before kirk was murdered. Frankly, if any of my gives celebrated Kirk's death, they'd be gone. If any of them celebrated the equivalent lefties assassination, they'd be gone.

Multiple reports of high schoolers and even teachers saying horrible things about Charlie and the situation.. my son showed me a screen shot this morning of a high school kid in his school saying some really nasty stuff on Instagram..
