Some liberals in their personal lives have made a song and dance about DEI and being anti Trump and Kirk. Now when the assassination happened, and if they remained silent, it would look like they were hypocrites and loved their jobs more than their "cause". So they are forced to open up and speak much against their better judgement. Some don't get caught many do. Then the ones that do go on twitter and complain about being fired.
Don't overthink it.
Some people are vile. They think it's perfectly acceptable to assassinate who disagree with them politically. "Prevent fascism" and "upholding free speech" are just fig leaves. They care about neither. They've been open about it all this time. Its just that Charlie's murder was a "turning point". Because he was compassionate, eloquent, real, and intelligent.
He exposed the shallowness and stupidity of leftist dogma.
