Shaq just laid it out perfectly. Houston is better off without the player harden has become. I had not interest in watching a rockets game this year until now. All of those players we gave the clips for Chris Paul made them a good team. Now maybe we can build something like that again.

He was an UFA - that was always known.

I figured we would be dealing him before the trade deadline for sure somewhere where he wants to go and would sign an extension with new team. We would get back some younger asset and a pick.

Like I said above, Harden boned us but it is what it is.

Team will be in rebuild mode for a few years while we wait out some other **** contracts.

Gotta believe the plan was to flip at the deadline, and Oladipo playing well is a lot more valuable to a contender trying to win now than Levert, who the Nets didn't think was good enough to be the 3rd best player on a championship team.

Yep. Harden had to go either way. His fat ass had run its course.

Maybe I'm doing the math wrong here, but Capela essentially turned into Wood, right? So that's a big win.

I like Wall, but he's not going to be part of a championship team on the Rockets. If Stone can turn Cousins, Gordon, Tucker and Wall into more than we gave up then we are in as good of a position as we could possibly be.

Going to miss James Harden. He is/was an elite offensive player, not just today, but all-time. I genuinely enjoyed watching him play. It was funny to me when opposing fans reduced his style to dribble for 23 and shoot, and it's even funnier now to see Rockets fans say the same now that he's gone. Dude was an elite scorer, elite playmaker, and was an offensive machine unto himself. I don't understand how that isn't fun to watch or at least, less fun to watch than 9-chest-passes-before-a-set-shot offenses that people are implying are "better basketball".

We got close a few times. Didn't work out. I like this new team and the compensation we got in return. Hope James does well and I hope the Rockets do well.
