#12 looks like me on 2K, jumping from the block for a 3.
How many times on my Sega Genesis in the 90s did I angrily try to block a shot while standing out of bounds?

Cuz you are happy to **** on the Rockets if it suits the Spuds.

I just always hated Harden. Glad you guys finally came around, too.

Bringing me up when I wasn't posting is pretty obsessive.

You are a regular on this thread, and you are a spurs fan. So why not mention you when we beat them? Especially when we weren't supposed to.

I can't imagine losing to a team without a healthy point guard

Part of me still wants to see him get a ring. Might be a while before that part is significant again.

Also, did he give a shout out to The Men's Club at the end?
"forever indebted"? What does that even mean. This may be one of the worst written goodbyes I've read.

He leaves behind a complex legacy. He was an all-time great player (maybe best in franchise history?), exciting to watch, led us to much success/relevance and did a lot for the city. He also behaved selfishly, created a big mess, pushed the eject button when it didn't work and acted like a petulant child on the way out.

Part of me wishes him success and wants to see him get his ring, but the other part wants to tell him to go eff himself.

Say James wins a ring in Brooklyn and wants to come back to Houston after the stint, would you guys want him back? I'm torn.

Going to miss James Harden. He is/was an elite offensive player, not just today, but all-time. I genuinely enjoyed watching him play. It was funny to me when opposing fans reduced his style to dribble for 23 and shoot, and it's even funnier now to see Rockets fans say the same now that he's gone. Dude was an elite scorer, elite playmaker, and was an offensive machine unto himself. I don't understand how that isn't fun to watch or at least, less fun to watch than 9-chest-passes-before-a-set-shot offenses that people are implying are "better basketball".

We got close a few times. Didn't work out. I like this new team and the compensation we got in return. Hope James does well and I hope the Rockets do well.

I think the argument is there to have Moses Malone and Dream over him, but he is without question considered one of the best in franchise history.

Yeay, no way he's #1 overall. Offensively, sure. Add defense, leadership and rings... that's three strikes.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

If Hakeem played in the modern space and pace game he would have easily averaged a triple double.

Beards offensive stats are mostly empty.

Weak.

The reason there's not enough there to compete for a title is number one because you're not a leader and number two because your one-dimensional style didn't mesh well with the three Hall of Famers they brought in for you.

Agreed. Hakeem definitely over him for what he did on both sides on the court and would carry the team in the playoffs and brought home two banners. Hakeem had an MVP and DPOY when often times harden was a liability on defense.

Vernon Maxwell on Bomani Jones' podcast the other day. Probably the most entertaining hour on a basketball pod I've heard in a long time. Some highlights:

- Shooting dice in 3rd Ward before games
- Akeem (not Hakeem) slapping the **** out of him
- Gary Payton being a *****
- Utah (LMAO)
- Blocking Buck Williams on Instagram

Hakeem was the Rocket we all wanted to be like, Vernon was the Rocket most of us probably would have been. Just a shade above thug level, doing whatever seemed like a good idea between games and just as likely to score 37 points as he was to go 2 for 17 from the floor. I was 20 years old in June 1994, Vernon's place in my basketball heart is untouchable.

The next few weeks will be fascinating to follow this team. Do we flip Oladipo? What can we get for PJ? Can we get a pair of And1s for Gordon?

I think they eventually flip Oladipo to get younger and collect more assets. The Heat are off to a rough start. Hope they keep losing and get desperate....

Awesome! The Oladipo stuff will be interesting. I can see why he wouldn't want to be here during a rebuild but you never know I guess.

Harden picking up right where he left off in Houston with a zero point first quarter vs. the Magic.

Ended up with a triple double. Guess this is what happens when you actually play hard instead of sabotaging your own team.

Now that he is trying again he will continue to be elite during the regular season. We will see what happens when it matters.

Harden is who he is. He's going to kill it this regular season. Every Harden season is basically domination and then wishing to fast forward to the playoffs and see if he's any different. I think he will be as the pressures not on him.

Pipe dream for me is he wins a ring or two, gets the monkey off his back, comes back to Houston to win a ring (a la lebron). I am not holding my breath.
