Well, no. First, I had to go back 20 years to find an example, since there are no longer any 12 seed at large invites. Second, playing a 5 and a 4 is a better path to the second weekend if you have a good squad. There are very few contenders below the 2-line. I do think St. Johns, Michigan State, and Arkansas are underrated, but the 1 and 2 lines have 8 contenders. Feel free to not respond. I doubt you will make a point.
