I'm hoping he kind of held back on purpose...because if not....what a little ***** punch that was for a grown man defending his wife's honor.

I admit to not knowing full context, but Will Smith's wife doesn't exactly deserve a ton of honor. That dude worshiped the ground JPS walked on and she shat all over it.

ETA: I DGAS about the Oscars but Will did a great job in King Richard.if anything, the man deserves a lifetime achievement award.

That definitely wasn't staged.
You can tell from Chris Rock being off his game aftwards.

That is a perfect representation of the brain damage the left has caused themselves over the last two years. A comedian makes a joke and you walk up on stage and assault the comedian and continue to yell expletives from your seat. And this isn't some drunk nobody at a stand up show at house of blues, it's WILL FING SMITH AT THE OSCARS.

I don't think this has to do with left or right. I think it has to do with will smith being a psychotic mf.

It absolutely has to do with left or right. Only one of those sides has committed completely to the idea that "words are violence". That's the only way someone could convince themselves to get out of their seat and walk up on stage at an event being viewed live by millions of people and commit an actual act of violence against someone who made a joke, however poor in taste it may have been.

I don't know. I think this one has to do with a guy going overboard trying to salvage a marriage that's likely done by going over the top on a joke that was a non issue until he smacked another celebrity.

That looked fake to me after multiple viewings. Looked similar to how wrestlers perform their slaps.

If it's fake I'll give Rock some credit, his reaction trying to move on after Will Smith was cussing at him from his seat was pretty convincing

Quote:

It was a surreal moment that seemingly no one knew how to react to- as per Scott Feinberg on Twitter, Smith was comforted by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry during a commercial break. Smith later returned to the stage as he won the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in King Richard, giving a tearful speech about protecting his family, saying "love makes you do crazy things," and apologizing to the Academy and his fellow nominees.

You can take the man out of west Philly but you can't take the west Philly out of the man.

I didn't even see it until now but what an embarrassingly unprofessional exhibition on the part of smith. I'm very disappointed. I thought he was better than that. He's old enough to have his act together but guess that's what happens in that industry.

Going to from laughing and having a good time to "oh crap, I better make an example so my wife doesn't give me the stink eye all night" is a real chicken **** thing to do. What an entitled little man child.

He's smart for not punching him, I think it would be a lot worse right now. A lot of people are brushing it off as no big deal because of the way Rock was able to just move on with the show (albeit it a little shook up trying to do so).

I agree. Rock looked shook. Struggled to move on.
And Smith looked angry as hell.

I just heard about this. I guess it's real. That just tells me Smith is embarrassed about agreeing to let his wife screw other men and he was trying to reclaim some authority here.

And it was spectacularly embarrassing for him and makes him look worse. Granted he will probably be held as a hero....somehow....and you will never see roasting type comedy again.

Authority? You realize Will Smith was laughing at the joke and then when he saw his wife was not he basically committed career suicide. If you didn't know his wife was sleeping around on him and he does nothing about it and only saw tonight, who would you think wears the pants in that relationship?
