- In the next couple of weeks, Smith will either be permanently kicked out of or suspended for X amount of years from the Academy (I'm going with the latter).
- He'll then do a big Oprah rehabilitation interview here in the next two or three months, where he apologizes profusely, gives us a bit more of a peek at what he's been going through mentally, with Jada, the pressures of fame, etc. Will be sympathetic, most will forgive him.
- He won't book another movie for the rest of 2022. He'll say he's taking a break from acting to clear his head, get right, etc, but we all know it'll be because he's waiting for the climate to mostly cool. And then, at some point in 2023, a streamer like Netflix will cast him in something relatively big and dumb - something in that Ryan Reynolds zone, that has zero awards potential - that hits the service in 2024, and will be a ratings hit, if only because of morbid curiosity.
- This will pave the way for his recently-announced I Am Legend sequel with Michael B. Jordan, which will hit in 2024/25, and the Will Smith comeback will be in full effect.
- The "loophole" to his Academy suspension will then see Smith finally make the jump to TV, starring in a dramatic limited series, one in which he's nominated for an Emmy.
- His, say, five-year ban will be lifted shortly after, his image completely rehabilitated, his star power returned, and he'll suddenly be in Oscar-worthy fare again toward the end of this decade.
