I think everyone, including the police, weren't sure if it was staged or not.merch said:
The idea that he would risk his career to defend a woman who cheated on him is laughable to me.
Seems staged to me. If not staged, and I know the liberal left in CA is beyond crazy, but even there he would have been arrested on the spot. Tons of cops and security and the guy violently assaults a person and is allowed to take his seat and 45 minutes later accept an award? I don't think so.

The joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear, and I reacted emotionally....by laughing

I think he had been stewing ever since that very first open marriage joke about them early in the show. That and people knowing his wife messed around on him caught up and he was like a pressure cooker at that moment.
Chris Rock's next set will be amazing. I can see him opening up with something like "heard any good jokes lately?" only funnier than peewee herman.Brian Earl Spilner said:We sold more tickets to see Chris Rock overnight than we did in the past month combined.

Good for him.
Jim Carrey calls #Oscar audience ‘spineless’ for Will Smith standing ovation:

“I was sickened by the standing ovation. Hollywood is just spineless en masse and it really felt like this is a really clear indication that we aren’t the cool club anymore.” pic.twitter.com/V2cYWKOgQ9

So refreshing to see a star of Carrey's caliber come out and publicly say exactly those words.

"at your highest moment, OJ Simpson will find you and give the most ironic take of all time."
I'm now convinced that I'm on an episode of #SouthPark #ojsimpson #WillSmith https://t.co/mvMptCpEip

What I don't understand is why Smith doesn't just divorce her? I totally get that she's the mother of his kids, and that there's legit love and history there, but I could never in a million years put up with her and that open relationship sh*t, which is something that increasingly sounds like she wanted and he didn't. Especially when he can have just about any woman he wants. But even if he's gay, why not just come out? It's 2022. No one cares, and he'd probably in fact be celebrated even more. Personally, I don't think he's gay, maybe bi at most. So I guess he just has some serious masculinity issues that I couldn't even begin to unpack…
