Over the course of Ashford he sees that the real world is different and these great houses are flawed, often self-serving and have hidden agendas.
He leaves Ashford knowing he doesn't want to be sucked into that corruption and to live out the virtues that Arlyn taught him, and what he'll teach Egg to make him better than his brothers
