I'm not going to be embarrassed for not being a JKF super nerd and immediately knowing a lot of the stuff on my X timeline tonight were also in a previous release years ago.
There's also the option of doing a quick Google search.

I read thru the document and don't see where it says anything like what the Twitter account claims. It also shows that it was cleared for public release in 1998.

Do the files mention anything about the South Vietnam coup that took place 20day prior to the assination ?

So there's a lot of data to unpack, but so far it appears classification of data had to do with covering up incompetence of our governmental agencies in getting LHO before he did the deed even though they had reason to suspect he was dangerous.

So classification of data for PR purposes, not real security reasons.

Sounds about what we'd expect. And sounds like Pompeo was a massive tool for thinking release of any of this would be a "massive catastrophe" - in his own words. Shedding light of the ineptness of the FBI or CIA is never catastrophic - it's just news the people have a right to know.

So it seems that all this does is kind of ties the CIA into what happened but very very loosely and it's pretty much what people have been saying for years.. all this stuff was out in the open being discussed by people like this board.

Is there anything new that has been revealed that was not already known ? I never really followed this whole JFK thing, but it seems this data drop doesn't definitely point out any glaring holes that were not already known. Anyway. Just kind of how I'm seeing this

Some of the JFK Jr vs Biden stuff is pretty interesting, Jr was probably / perhaps murdered in my opinion, did not know he was so close to the political people of this country

For those who are students of the assassination, do you think we'll get a clear, definitive account of the JFK assassination, or just a pile of raw documents that fuel conflicting conspiracy theories?

So far, it seems like a mix of interviews, memos, and subjective claims--plenty of room for red herrings.

Nothing released will change anyone's mind.

I don't think anything will actually have anything to do with the actual shooting.

There will be lots of peripheral stuff that is mostly irrelevant.

There will probably be stuff about the CIA activity in Mexico, Russia, and Cuba.

There will probably be stuff about the FBI and CIA being aware of LHO, but not doing anything about him, thinking he was more a loser than dangerous.

I don't disagree with you, but that's quite disappointing if true. I would have thought the government would have at least done a thorough investigation internally and would be disclosing the results of that investigation (and not just the evidence).

Also, I don't think the incompetence of the CIA and/or FBI 60 years ago would be a good enough reason to scare people like Pompeo from wanting to release the files? That seems weird to me too.

If the actual people behind the murder of MLK and JFK are found in these documents, that would make this entire thing worth waiting for. If not, then it'll feel like just another nothing burger we've been given before.

LBJ was going to be dropped from the Ticket in JFK's reflection run and faced the real possibility of going to prison once he was out of office. He had motive, means and opportunity. If not involved with the actual shooting, he certainly fast tracked the cover up to move on to his administration. Many in the intelligence world thought he was behind it all.

On the White House tapes, Nixon repeatedly referred to "the Whole Bay of Pigs" thing. Haldeman (and others) have asserted that this was Nixon's code phrase used for threatening the CIA with revealing their role in the JFK assassination/cover up. Nixon knew something big.

LHO was so complex, so bizarre, that we can never fully know his mind, or contacts, or influences.

I heard an old Spook say once that so many people wanted JFK dead, some of them might actually believe they succeeded in killing him. We'll never know the whole truth. The most this dump of stale paper is going to do is invite some new questions.

These are not the MLK documents.

The evidence is already out there and very clear about who is behind the murder of JFK. There has been no evidence in over 60 years that contradicts that LHO acted alone and killed JFK.

Any other conclusion is simply spin based on conjecture.

Click on a few of the files. Read through. I don't think anyone was really going through them and certainly not Pompano and Trump. Remember Trump saying "If yall saw what I saw in them you wouldnt release them, either"? You think Trump was going through all these dumb bull**** files?

What is funny is the files released yesterday apparently included SSN for people that are still alive.

Someone on reddit claims to have done this and generated these results. However, a lot of questions about how he did it and whether it's even possible with AI with that amount of info. I have tried loading an 800 page PDF ebook into chatgpt 4.0 and had it croak on it, but chatgpt 4.5 seems to be better.

I just figured someone advised them, or that there might be a consolidated report (I'm thinking something like the 911 commission report) that gives the final conclusions/findings, the players, events, etc.
