Effort requires zero skill. I'll take putting out in every other department and struggling at the plate. Still be of value in other elements of the game

Jack Leiter experience.... Cruising through an inning then yank one in to a guy's foot, give up a single, then walk a guy. Gets out of it with a liner at Nimmo though.

It's really tough having 3 of your 5 rotation guys having high walk rates. Can be electric to watch for an inning then brutal for an inning.

Think that's on Garcia…had him dead to rights but his high throw didn't let Burger get to a point to throw not in the baseline

Maybe, but hard to fault the pitcher for just getting it to the 1B when the runner is picked off. I realize Burger isn't known for his defense, but an average defensive 1B makes that throw easily to get the runner.

Bacsik just said Burger feels comfortable challenging inside pitches, then Burger doesn't challenge a ball inside called a strike. Should have been a walk...
