I've been catching up on the nominees this past week. This is how I would currently rank the BP's (my favorites, not prediction-wise) --

1. OUATIH
2. 1917
3. Jojo Rabbit (VERY close behind)
4. The Irishman
5. Joker
6. Marriage Story
7. Parasite
8. Ford v Ferrari

The real surprise to me was how much I ended up loving Jojo Rabbit. I LOVED Irishman, and this movie hopped over Irishman, pretty unexpectedly.

Have not seen Little Women, but will be watching it in the next few days. Really doubt it would jump anything other than maybe Parasite or FvF.

Edit: Uncut Gems wasn't nominated, but it would be #7 on my list, above Parasite.

I fear OUATIH is suffering from peaking too early. It's my favorite of the year but it seems to have fallen out of the top spot for anything other than Pitt for Supporting Actor.

Either once upon a time because they will say it is nothing but a love song to liberal Hollywood or jojo rabbit because it simultaneously mocks and makes hitler seem sympathetic (note:haven't had the chance to see jojo and am just going off trailer.)

Man, I just don't know what they want then. Leo wins for The Revenant but not even in the mix for this? OUATIH is probably the best performance I've ever seen him give. Rick Dalton was actually a pretty layered role.

The Joker love is starting to get ridiculous. Not jumping on the "It's not a good movie!" train, but it's definitely getting overhyped at this point.

I guess I'm going to have to watch Marriage Story even though it looks boring as hell and not interesting in the least (to me).

This will sound dumb to F13, but I want to watch Marriage Story solely because I've never seen Adam Driver in any role but Kylo Ren. That is my sole context of his acting.

I do an Oscar Pool and put ScarJo as my number two pick for Supporting Actress. I think she has a minor shot at that
