Why Gerwig over Waititi? I just saw LW (and enjoyed it more than I expected), but from what I hear it's almost an 100% faithful adaptation.

Waititi took a ton of liberties and really made the story his own. (From a basically humor-less book.)

Really hope he takes it.

Just going more off the vibe/conversation after she was "snubbed" for Best Director. I feel like voters might make up for it by giving her Adapted Screenplay instead. Definitely rooting for Waititi, though.

I think we talked about it earlier on the thread. Sex Panther made a good point that he really wasn't the star. I still felt like he was more than a supporting actor but I do ultimately agree it might be where the role was supposed to be slated.

He's definitely the supporting actor in it. The primary actor is the guy from The Americans, who portrays a cynical, very damaged writer, dealing with issues regarding his father. The movie is about him writing an article about Mr. Rogers and him helping him with forgiveness.

It's a very good movie that could do everyone well to see

I honestly couldn't imagine living a life where I care what an actor says, on any subject, enough to where it effects my life to that level.

Yea, I planned to just catch it streaming sometime. That makes sense, and Matthew Rhys is a great actor.

Glad Brad won, long overdue. But his comment re: Bolton just showed his political ignorance. The Dem controller House could have called Bolton as a witness but didn't. Though he deservedly won the highest award given for his profession, he turns half his fans off with a dumb, ignorant comment. Why do that?
