LIVE OR DIE

Give each character an 'L' or a 'D'

Get a point for each one you get right.

You have to make your picks and post them before 12 a.m. on April 29th when the
show drops. I probably won't get to watch the whole thing until Sunday, so I'll tally it up then or someone else can do it.

Candidates
Marty Byrde
Wendy Byrde (if there is a God in Heaven, she'll be first)
Charlotte Byrde
Jonah Byrde
Ruth Langmore
Three Langmore
FBI Agent Maya Miller
Omar Navarro
Javier
Baby Zeke
Private Investigator Mel Sattem
Sheriff Leigh Guerrero (Nix's replacement)
Frank Cosgrove Jr.
Clare Shaw, the world's dumbest CEO
Senator Schafer
Jim the attorney who can be anywhere and do anything

Tie-breaker: Name the first person who dies in the 2nd half of Season 4.

I'm caught up- finally. Great points. Love this show. My 2 inputs:

I actually thought when they all met with the FBI and they told the Byrds that they were finished that the Byrds were going to be part of an elaborate FBI undercover sting to infiltrate the cartels and their part was completed.

Also, anybody notice that Laura Linnet's character's have a crazy brother that keeps getting in the way? (Love Actually)

I doubt they kill any of the Byrd's. As has been pointed out, Marty does everything to protect his family. It's his main driver. If one of them were to be killed, especially one of his kids, I'm not sure how his character would respond.

Ruth is going to kill Javi, that I'm certain of.

did we ever figure out why season 4 started with a car accident in the van with the whole family. right before it shows Marty and Wendy picking Helen's brains out of their hair at Navarro's mansion during the birthday party. was that supposed to happen in the future?

We don't know. Could be a dream sequence - or a fantasy - as we've seen in the past, or might be something that happens at the end of the show.

If they are almost free of the **** and die in a single-vehicle car crash, that will be really lame.

I kind of took that scene to be an allegory for Marty's plan to get out of the mess they're in. I think it foreshadows that Marty's schemes are going to lead to his death.

I can't help but notice how much this series borrows from the Breaking Bad/BCS universe. It would almost be fitting for Marty to die as a sacrifice for his family and Ruth, similar to what Walt did for his family and Jessie.

When I started the show, Ruth was the most over the top character for me and not someone I identified with at all. Now, having seen what she lost and what she's willing to do to put a stop to it, I think she is singularly the most badass character I've ever watched on the screen. She is purely a product of her environment, and has no qualms with standing up for what she believes in.

Great writing, even better acting on her part. The eye flutter… gets me every time!

If anyone's going to kill anyone, I suspect it will be Wendy killing Marty, and I suspect she's had a plan to kill him for years, or maybe even several plans.

Watching first episode now.

The Killer Mike scene was a bit weird to me. Like when Ed Sheeran appeared on Game of Thrones. Kind of felt out of place a bit.

Even worse for me. Had no idea who that was. She stops and has this vague discussion with a random dude in a coffee shop? Took me awhile to figure out he was someone famous, but I still didn't know who.

I binged all 7 episodes last night. I can't quite put my finger on why, but I feel a little disappointed after waiting for these episodes. Maybe the writing was lacking in the last 2-3 episodes like they were trying to rush to an ending.

The whole grandad kids thing. I get why they did it for the moms story line. But come on, they had NO relationship at all with him. No matter how much their mom drove them nuts. They would not have done that one. But of course, a non family member helps them learn their grandpa is just as messed up as their mom.

I definitely could've done without that storyline.

I started watching around mid-morning today and, before I knew it, I finished all 7 episodes. I thought it was good, but was a little disappointed with the ending. First half of this season was better than the 2nd.

Several storylines and scenes felt unnecessary or forced....To name a few: Wendy's dad, the mental hospital, and the bringing back of old characters (either real or in flashbacks) so they could have one last hurrah in the final season.

LOL. I had no clue who that dude was and didn't care enough to look it up. I figured someone on Texags would do the work for me and post about it. Thanks!

If you are watching Better Call Saul in parallel, it hurts the Ozark experience. Ozark is fun and want to see it to the end, but BCS is staffed with some very talented people top to bottom.

Yeah I feel like it was actually pretty fitting. The bad guys win. The Byrds learn absolutely nothing. Ruth dies, Navarro dies, the Byrds get what they want. I honestly thought they might try to stop Ruth from dying there, but they just let it happen. Even Jonah turns in the end.

Well they set up this season as he tried to help her not do something that would come back to haunt her. There was nothing they could do at that point. It was kind of easy to see coming especially with the imagery of her family over and over. Lots of foreshadowing of being in a better place.

I thought the Killer Mike scene was kind of cool and fitting for that episode. The show has used Run the Jewels a few times throughout the series so I'm sure it was just a nod to KM as a songwriter and tone setter for the show. And I loved that first episode start to finish, with the old school rap and Ruth acting her ass off.

Rest of the season was good, not great. Overall a really solid series, but probably one of the darkest shows I've ever watched.
