We only met 2 but I think they were both cordial? One just asked him if he knew anywhere to **** better than in some straw lol.

Yeah they were fine but the one did lie about being just a lowly crabber but maybe he was just trying to connect with Dunc.

Knowing how these things usually go, we'll undoubtedly start off with Raymond's death.

Like Roman, I intend to pre-grieve to hopefully prevent this being me next Sunday...

Yup, I've been a little surprised that the visiting royal party have been at least partly made up of seemingly decent people.

S1 E6 of GoT Ned Stark is going through the book of the great houses and says: "Lyonel Baratheon, black of hair." Just so cool watching early GoT episodes and seeing these characters pop up.

Do you mean unlike Roman, cause that boi lost it? Always such an excellent scene seeing him stroll about the fancy apartment just in denial bliss. Then just melting. Jeez.

The showrunner did an AMA on the GameofThrones subreddit and wow I am so excited to see the future of this series. I think they finally found the right person to handle the franchise; there are a lot of people calling for him to be the Kevin Feige of the GoT universe now haha

Interesting video with Martin from 6 years ago and he said at the time he wanted to write 9 more Dunc and Egg stories and of course they joke about how delinquent he is with Game of Thrones and of course 6 years later, still nothing.

To this day, I cannot hear the GoT theme without singing along "Peter Dinklage, Peter Dinklage...".

Anyone else?

Saw reports that he shared overviews / and synopsis of these 10-12 stories to the showrunner for future seasons.

Likely early manuscripts.

I'm really excited for the future of the show - I think as long as they honor George and keep him close, he'll pour a lot of his time and effort into it. (Much to the dismay of those of us waiting on the rest of his books)

Waiting on him to finish the books is like wanting the Ags to win a national championship...it ain't happening anytime soon.

My concern is we've seen what happens when showrunners use overviews/synopsis of the last two seasons of GoT and it was:

it all comes down to these shows NEED the fully written out scenes from Martin.
Overviews are not enough, unfortunately.

I still maintain that the biggest issue wasn't that George never finished the books, but that B&W just decided to punt on the show. Deciding to just end the series on 13 episodes for literally no reason (other than they wanted that Disney Star Wars money) is what killed the legacy of the show. Had every plot point been the same* but simply allowed breathing room to develop organically, I think it would have been totally fine.

* - Except for Arya killing the Night King. That **** would have been dumb no matter how much time you spent building to it.
