correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't taylor in-charge of the high powered offense that scored 4 goals in conference play? i think we can find a middle school coach who could accomplish that

Exactly, it's rookie accounts making it seem like we desperately need the assistant coaches to stay or be promoted to head coach. Taylor was here for two of our worse seasons and saw all his starters leave. He's been a D1 assistant 7 years and has been to the tourney once. Won't even be a minimal loss. A complete coaching staff turnover is what's needed and is what's most likely coming.

11 individual players in the NCAA have scored 17 or more goals. And 7 of our goals came against a team who won 1 game in the Patriot League lmao.

We scored 6 goals against Power 4 teams so forgive us for wanting a change in offensive coaching

the worser part is that our offense was so bad teams would score one or two then essentially save themselves for the next match and put in no real effort

the offfensive system was non existent and frankly the defense wasnt all that either - fire them all

She's not disparaging you, but the offense.
Last I remember the coaches choose the players who are put in those attacking positions as well.

Our offense wasn't good, there is no getting around that, and the idea we "have" to hold onto any coach from this squad is laughable. I hope we hire a new coach that will have a wide array of talented assistants at his or her disposal.

It's people like this account that don't understand how XG works or don't understand soccer. Taylor joined the program when it already had major cracks. If you watched games this year, A&M played with basically 7 defenders because they didn't have much talent to score. It's amazing they even outshot anyone with how much they defended. That being said, you can't deny that the guy got a top 10 recruiting class and A&M hadn't had one in years

Maybe you need a 5th edit to make some actual sense. With a new hire, people will be posting more because Aggie Soccer will be under new leadership and will begin a new era which we're going to be excited for (I hope). This program can be great under the right leadership, it has amazing fans, amazing support, and it's part of a beautiful school and community! Why would we stop posting???

Agree with this completely. I was driven away from most threads because certain posters only focus on bashing G and blaming anything and everything on him. I understand the decline the program has seen, but still do not feel the need to say it on every thread. Some of the comments might be true but still is it required to be brought back up on every thread. Especially on threads where we saw a glimmer of hope, but it seemed some posters felt they needed to counter any positivity with the repeated negative comments to bash out any positive comments.

Now the coach is retired and gone, and some people still want to bash G on every thread. Let's move forward and look for the positive.

So you joined the board in the middle of the free fall and expect all the long time posters to be really optimistic about the future. Got it.

ETA not an attack on you. Just some perspective from where some of the long time posters are coming from. This board hasn't always been a place of negativity and cynicism, unlike the football and Politics boards.
