It is not a female….i don't think it's a fully done deal but pretty high probability(90+%) that it will be done.
Is the timing related to this coach's team still playing in the post season?

Also with regard to pay, we really are at parity with most of the major D1 schools. The total comp number thrown around may or may not be available to the incoming coach.

I'd be more disappointed in taking so long for a cheap smaller hire than the actual hire itself. That means we struck out with bigger names or we foolishly waited and waited and got left at the alter.
And even if the hire is disappointing like we're being braced for, nowadays you can turn over a roster quickly and win right away. Any coach deserves a chance to build something…

Also if this is the result of waiting for Eric Bell then LOL, first he takes our players, then he spoils our coaching search…

That's a pretty pessimistic outlook. I think those that will be disappointed probably get caught up in individual player rankings, bright shiny flashy objects, and things that actually don't matter in the grand scheme of things. This coach will bring wins and probably knows soccer better than most people on this board.
The Kansas coach is fantastic and look for them to continue winning. We are not hiring Nate but he was asked to interview. I'd expect he'll get a preemptive contract extension.
I've been trying to follow this thread but tbh I have no idea who any of these people are. My dad has season tickets so he knows more than I, but can someone share a tiered wish list like we do with other sports coaching searches? lol thanks in advance!

Well, point me to the team that's won big without "high player rankings"? I'll wait.
Moreover, any top level highschool coach prolly knows more soccer than most on this board but that doesn't mean anything
This was a once proud program that shouldn't have to Mike Sherman a coach and hope for the best but keep on with your cope

Mark Krikorian at FSU never had highly rated classes. I'd say he did ok. TCU did ok this year without a ton of highly recruited athletes.
I am more intrigued in the "camp money, may or may not be available to the incoming Coach" part of the narrative. I'm taking this to mean that G owns so much of the camp that he may keep the camp as a revenue source and conduct it at a different location than the A&M fields. We all know the deal G had was sweet and he either wants to hold onto that or it means the new coach will not be allowed to have such a sweet camp deal. I have a friend who mentioned it last night that there is no way the Administration sees what G was making and doesn't want a big chunk of that to go back to the Athletic department and not to a coach.
Also can people realize or just stop to think the competitive landscape of our state ? Without a good coach we arent going to win the top Texas recruits from tu and tcu. Tcu signed 9 transfers last year too we haven't had any and been out for so long.

I dunno but classes stuffed with all Americans and u-15/16/17/18 national pool players seems like he had highly rated talent…
But maybe our definitions of highly rated talent is different
