Pretty clearly said I'm not a Lakers fan. But anybody that thinks a team that averages >4 trips to the NBA finals a decade is going anywhere is delusional.

This is the here and now. The lakers have NOTHING to build off of and have no hope for the immediate future (unless like I posted earlier about Lebron) period. All dynasty's end eventually ask Boston, Chicago etc

by the way, why is this even brought up. The lakers will probably make the playoffs with dwight, but there's not a chance in hell, with the way the new CBA is constructed, that they'll be a big time contender in the next 2-3 years, with or without dwight.
I don't think the Lakers will win a title in the next 7 years.
And they will be in the lottery before they make the Finals again.
With a strong draft class next year, it wouldn't surprise me to see them miss out on Dwight, amnesty Gasol, bring Kobe along VERY slowly and hope for a great pick next year. The Lakers don't have their 2015 pick due to Nash.

They should have been in the lottery this year.
Even if they get Howard back, an injury plagued team just got older, and a center that sometimes needs motivation would have been signed to a long term deal.
Unless the Western Conference turns into the Eastern Conference, the Lakers are missing the playoffs this year.
And, with the structure of the new CBA, the Lakers are in big trouble.

Couldn't he also put an opt out clause in his contract, allowing him to get out of this contract after the 3rd season and start his next full max deal at 30? Assuming he leaves LA of course.
