I can't decide about either Howard or Smith. If you can get Howard you have to try as Houston. Josh Smith is a volume shooter and loved jacking up 3s. While the rockets shoot a bunch of 3s I don't know if I want Smith shooting that many 3s.

Does Smith need the ball in his hands to be effective? Harden and Howard would seems to be options 1 and 2. How has smiths perimeter D help up over the years? They really need a good perimeter D player.

Beverly is better than Lin and costs almost nothing. If you look at advanced stats, he was the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team last year when he got playing time. Did you guys even watch the playoffs?

For the guy who asked, Smith is one of the better defenders in the league.

He has a tendency to jack 3s but on a team with Harden/Parsons and Howard you'd hope the stats and coaching staff could get him to focus more on finishing around the rim where he is pretty good.

He's a very good defender, and I think he's best when he doesn't have the ball in his hands. He's a good passer but his shot selection is terrible. If he would accept his weaknesses, he could be a star. But he won't.

Advanced statistics say that offensively, he's really bad but defensively he is elite. Can you convince him to cut his shot attempts in half? Then he's a fantastic piece.

That's why I haven't been on the bandwagon wanting Smith. He'd be a great add with Howard if he drastically changes his shot selection. I seriously doubt he does. How long had he been on the league? Just seems his selection gets worse.

I'd want nothing to due with Smith without Howard

I wonder what kind of contract Josh Smith will get. I don't think he is a max player at all. I think he would fit in nicely with Howard/Harden - easily better than your other options. That would also give a lot of nice front court length.

I think a 11-13mm/yr deal is more appropriate for him.

Josh smith has felt more and more like he has had to carry his team the past few years, even with Joe. With harden Dwight and parsons he will not have to do that. Watch out
