If they want to do a S&T with Smith they will likely need to get a third team involved. Asik won't match the salary that Smith gets and Atlanta won't be interested in gettng Lin.

We just got Dwight Howard. My confidence is sky high. No doubt in my mind the Smith deal gets done.
Well it looks like DM did it. Turned a bunch of decent average players into James harden, Dwight Howard, and possibly josh smith.

Utah just agreed to pay Brandon Rush, Andres Biedrins, and Richard Jefferson $24mm in exchange for Kevin Murphy and 2 first round picks. OKC traded James Harden for Jeremy Lamb and 1 year of Kevin Martin.

It might happen but Lin would just take away from Williams, Teague and Schroder there. Plus, Budenholzer and Ferry is like Spurs east. I'd be somewhat surprised if they were willing to take on Lin and his $20M.
The reason Utah took on those deals is because all those contract were expiring. Lin and Asik aren't. Asik is good value but at the price of taking on Lin also? I'm not so sure.

Sher Thing, I think people undervalue Lin due to the over-exposure of Linsanity. He's still a good young PG with a manageable cap number, and he improved throughout the season last year.

In about a year Daryl Morey flipped Kyle Lowry, Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb into James Harden, Dwight Howard and maybe Josh Smith.
Flip Asik for Smith and then Lin for Calderon? That would be crazy
Asik for Smith won't work unless other pieces are involved to match salaries.
