Houston has a better chance of winning next season. But I wonder if howard is interested in trying to lure a free agent to Dallas with him after next year. It is being reported that Dallas has $0 tied up after next year.
I can guarantee you that Dwight would much rather play for Carlisle than Kevin. Dude can learn new post moves in the offseason or hire a PC during the season... So who gives a ****? Carlisle is light years ahead of Kevin.

@LanceZierlein: According to @DavidNunoABC13 the Rockets have hired Dwight Howard's personal strength coach. That's called a "check-raise", kids.
Who cares about which team's coach is better. If that's the only thing you can brag about then you have bigger problems to worry about.

Why would he go to a team that might get another star to play with him (not that Dallas has any history of actually landing big time free agents) instead of going to Houston where they already have an all-star and a young one at that?

Would like to see him in Dallas but all signs point to him being a Rocket
I expect Howard to end up in Houston, but am somewhat worried about Golden State as well. It sounds like the Mavs are talking about a potential deal with the Celts that would send Rondo, Wallace, Lee and Bass over to Dallas for the expiring contracts of Marion and Carter along with Larkin. If the Mavs really don't want to go the route of bottoming out, which is what they probably should do, then this wouldn't be a bad move for them.
At any rate, I am excited as a Rockets fan to see what Houston could do with Howard, Harden and Parsons. I hope it happens.

To add-on to what 12th man said, please Dallas fans, tell us what big name free agents have ever signed to play with the Mavericks. You can talk all you want about what a great owner Cuban is, but who have they signed? They struck out on D-Will last year.
I will admit it has been a while since the Rockets have signed one either, but funny to listen to Mavs fans talk as if they can just bring in whoever they want.

Don't let one trolling ****** rep all Mavs fans. We have never pulled a huge FA. But I can imagine some players see it as a desirable team. DWill himself said he thought he was going to be a Mav if Cuban had decided to not film his stupid TV show.
I never said that Dallas has been a place for big-time free agents. But again, name me the last time SA or Spew has been able to sign a big-time free agent. You can't.

Show me the post where a Houston or SA fan said that a player would pick them because of cap space to land big time free agents. You can't.
I don't know if having Harden helps or hurts the Rockets chance. It seems like being 'the guy' is more important to Dwight than winning. If he comes to Houston he has to overcome a young, exciting budding star to be the fan favorite. If he goes to Dallas he will be seen as 'the guy' pretty quickly as an aging and ailing Dirk fades.

Howard averages 20 points, 14 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, and 60% shooting in the playoffs. After 9 years in the league, he has missed the playoffs 3 times: his first two seasons and the back injury. He's been knocked out in the first round 3 times. Those three series, he averaged:
15 - 15 - 1 block, 55% shooting
27 - 15.5 - 1.8, 63%
17 - 11 - 2, 62%
