The tortillas were good. About average sized with good taste and pliable enough to not fall apart.

I had 2 bean & cheese tacos and a carne guisada. Bean & cheese were fairly unremarkable. Salsa had good flavor but wasn't nearly hot as I'd prefer, but I do like things hotter than most.

My carne guisada had good taste, and would have had plenty of ingredients but I had to pull a few little fat chunks out (my preference is no fat chunks) which left the taco less-than-overflowing. Taste was good. I'd have eaten two more guisada tacos if they'd been in front of me. Just wasn't my favorite. If around 410 & Blanco for breakfast I'd hit this up again. If it's lunch time I think Guajillos might outrank it.

Sidenote - I wish Guajillos was open for breakfast, 'cause I bet they'd have some great breakfast tacos.

Chorizo was excellent, size was small, tortillas were meh.

Tacos next Wednesday, August 1st, for those of you who have a hard time with dates. I'll throw out Mary Lou's off McCollough as my recommendation.

They just had a groupon. I will do my best to attend.

We need to hit Mariscos Marisol on Blanco near Timberwood Park. Best tacos in town.....and thats coming from me folks

Mary Lou's tomorrow 7am. 4405 McCullough in Olmos Park. Good Tacos with generous portion on the fillings, great tortillas, and solid chilaquiles.

Y'all really missed out. I used my Groupon and had so many leftover tacos it was incredible.

I got the chilaquiles a la mexicana plate w/ white cheese and flour tortillas. The tortillas were fluffy, pliable, and didn't tear under pressure. Well done. The chilaquiles was pretty tasty. Not as spicy as I prefer. The salsas had good flavor but were not as spicy as I prefer either. The portions were generous.

I got some carne guisada and beef fajita tacos to go. Had a fajita taco yesterday - larger than most tacos and had onions and bell pepper. Beef was tender and good flavor, although not as spicy as I prefer. You notice the trend, yes? But I don't blame them 'cause it's located near Olmos Park which is filled with a bunch of gringos.

Just had two carne guisada tacos for lunch. I'm a fan. Not as good as Aguascalientes, but they use good quality meat (not a bunch of fatty content in the taco). Flavor is very good. Not as spicy as I'd prefer.

Would recommend Mary Lou's Cafe. It's actually really nice inside too, so probably wouldn't be a bad date spot if your lady would like some not-too-spicy mexican in her life.

When and where is the next one? I missed the last one. I have been deprived of good tacos and texagers for too long.

Considering how the weather looks like it might postpone the la tech game I say we go next Wednesday Sept 5th for some pre-Florida game tacos. I'll believe AAM had a suggestion on where.

I hit up Las Rancheritas last week with a galpal and it was really good. But it's inside the loop and you hear the chickens crow before they get served. The guy at the register said the owners of Las Rancheritas have a place off of Woodstone. Holy carp, outside the loop? God bless it.

Thought I'd add one I stopped by in Boerne this morning.

Marys Tacos on E Blanco about halfway between main st and the high school. They evidently are a Kerrville joint that opened a location in Boerne.

The tortillas were being hand rolled by an old mexican lady in the corner and were soft and good sized. I had a Bubba(potato, carne guisada and cheese) and a Sean(bean, potato and cheese). Both were pretty darn good. I'll try it again next time I'm in the neighborhood.

La Fonda in San Marcos. Cheap and good!

Someone mentioned Comal County Tacos on the first page. I live about 5 minutes away. I go there about 5 times a week. It is super good, good prices, and they will make any taco you want. My favorite is sausage, egg, spicy potato, bean and cheese. This place is about 5 miles east of 281 on HWY 46.

Went to the Original Donut place this morning off Fred... the tacos were pretty good but holy hell, those donuts were absolutely fantastic.

Damn skippy.
