been meaning to add a recommendation for Taqueria Chapala Jalisco off McCollough and Dewey. Very good and cheap, plus it isn't often you can eat Mexican food in a pizza hut building.

anyone up for tacos on November 3rd? presumably at Aguascalientes.

I saw on TV that Mississippi has been rated the "Fattest State for the past Five Years". There have been similar reports about San Antonio being one of the fattest cities each year.

How would we let Mississippi pass us?

Is there a city in Mississippi that is fatter than SA?

San Antonio doesnt usually rate higher in the fatness than Houston or Dallas though. NOLA shold be up there with all the fried cuisine they eat/provide.

Honestly, I don't know a thing about the place other than it looks legit based on driving past it on the way back from lunch and it is named after roosters.

Sign on the front had 3 tacos for 2.50 so its cheap and from the picture the sombrero's on the wall, i think, adds touch of class.

I'll get up early one day this week and try it out.

Negative Ghostrider, El Gallito de Jalisco is full. Eaten there a time or two. Meh. It's the typical greasy tortillas coated in gubment cheese and over cumin'd wolf brand chili looking sauce..stuff. And not in the good way. Also tried the tacos there once upon a time. There were right up there with Taco Cabana. Been a while, though.

There is another Something Something Taco Jalisco Something further down Wurzbach on the other side of I-10, behind HEB, next to Autozone and Big Lots. Their breakfast plates ain't bad. Chorizo and egg, beans, taters, and misshapen tortillas with coffee is about $4-5. I'd try them before going back to El Gallo.

If you want the same kinda sorta general area, go to Danny's Cocina on Callaghan and 410 inside the loop. Big honkin tacos, and they make it all.

That'd be it. It seems to be a requirement to have 'Jalisco' in the name if you wanna have a taco joint.

And for the record, the tacos at Danny's don't actually honk, although with the right combination of ingredients and some of their hotter sauces you have a decent chance of being fairly musical.

I have stopped many times at the El Gallito Taco Truck at Vance Jackson and Huebner. That taco wagon is bumpin from 10 PM - 3 AM.

We have gone there about5 or so times thus far. Good food by pretty bad quality last time.

Grabbed a Taco from El Potosino on San Pedro this morning on the way to work.

Not bad but with all of the other places in the area probably not somewhere i will go regularly.

A. My dogs are the best plate & pot lickers this side of the Pecos.
B. More like a brown. I like to let it age in the sun for a few days.
C. None. But upper arm tattoos are allowed and encouraged.
