Miro looked like he's been in the league a few years. He'll make some rookie mistakes this year, but man I'm excited to see what this kid grows into.
Carrick had a great game. I think he was in a "square peg in a round hole" situation in Toronto. I think Monty's system suits him better.
Polak looked good. I was watching him closley waiting on him to get caught flat footed or have guys blow past him, but he was solid. Granted, it was Arizona, and other teams have more talent and team speed. But for at least one night, I thought he held his own.
The rest of the D was of course solid. I was impressed with how they're already implementing Monty's system of making the opponet earn every bit of open space. And how lucky are we to have Klingberg? The guy is an elite defenseman and is a blast to watch.
Seguin's line was of course solid. He and Benn had several chances. Radulov is my favorite guy to watch consistently. He just plays hard and with a ton of passion.
I think Val will add another element to the Spezza line. They were fine without him, but the jury's still out on if Spezza will elevate his game, and I think Val will give them a little something extra to push him in a positive direction.
The Faksa line was good. Faksa especially is just a great 2-way player and I've always liked Shore. Great to see him get the goal.
4th line was decent. They have the potential to really muck some games up as play dictates.
Bishop was fantastic. I just hope he can stay healthy.
I don't bet on hockey, but knowing Winnipeg and seeing that they destroyed St. Louis, I thought for sure they'd be heavy favorites tonight. Yesterday they were a slight favorite (-105) but the line has moved to -110 in favor of the Stars. Interesting is all. Excited to see how this team looks against stiffer competition.
