Boy am I ever glad I went and bought me a Game 6 ticket the other day before Game 5. What an incredible atmosphere that was tonight and that game was SO MUCH FUN! Best hockey game I've ever been to! Hopefully that is just the beginning!
What do you guys think of the Blues?
They finished behind the predators and the predators defense is supposedly a lot better than the blues.
The blues offense could handle our defense better. Still a lot of variables and ways to analyze it I guess.

We match up pretty well with the Blues. Hell, we're playing at a level that we have a shot against anyone.
But NHL playoffs are such a damn crapshoot. And very tough on the nerves.

We match up well with them imo. They are big but we are faster and better defensively. Now, it does seem that Tarasenko has our number but we won't leave him open as much as we used to. They do have a much better pp so staying out of the box is paramount and I like our goalie to outplay theirs.
I stayed up way too late celebrating last night. My head hurts but it was totally worth it. Bring on the blues
So who is feeling it today? After getting home at 12:15 and finally getting to sleep about 1:00, getting to work by 7:00 was rough.

The blues are redhot and have been since the allstar break. I think they have the best record in the nhl since then....This will be another extremely tough series
Trivia factoid: Steve Ott is now an assistant coach with the Blues.
I had to stay off the boards last night but I'm beyond excited for this. My FIL is a St. Louis native and a Blues fan. Should make for some interesting games to watch.

The Blues are a better team than Nashville, but Dallas matches up better against the Blues than the Preds. Blues get more depth scoring but lack the blue-line presence. Tarasenko was invisible against Dallas during the season going up against the Faksa line. The Blues will be favored because of how they finished the season, but they played a Winnipeg team that was falling apart and got torched twice by Dallas during their big run. That was the most exciting game on home ice since 2008. I'm happy for this group of players but I'm elated for the fans. It's been a long time since we've had epic battles like the one we had last night.
Can I ask what may be a dumb question? I was at the game last night and it threw me off at first but did Nashville purposely pull their goalie in the 2nd period I believe to do a 6 on 5? Obviously I've seen that at the end of a game frequently by a losing team but what was the reason last night? Just to have a slight temporary advantage to try and score? I could understand that except it seemed weird because the game was tied and I thought that seemed a tad desperate when it didn't need to be.
Also, why did the refs call off play when we touched it? Were we offsides? I was hoping for a breakaway goal on that empty net. Thanks for any clarification.

That was a delayed penalty situation - Play continues until Dallas controls the puck. There is very little chance Dallas could score in that situation, so they pulled their goalie.
Ah. That makes so much more sense. I didn't realize I guess there was a delayed penalty then. Thanks!

The first game between stars and blues is Thursday at 9:30. The blues might have someone working for them in the NHL scheduling department. That time is a kick in the nuts! The stars just played late Monday night.
So the Stars will basically only have one day off since they have to travel. What a screwjob by the NHL.

This Vegas San Jose game just got crazy. Eakin got called for a 5 minute major and the Sharks just scored 4 goals to go ahead 4-3.

What I would really like to know is how was St Louis playing their game 6 on Saturday, when we were only in Game 5. That should NEVER happen.
