Sadly I can't defend him anymore. He's still one of my favorites, but ultimately is a bust (based on where he was drafted)
I'm also getting to the point where I would like to see what Dallas looks like without Benn.
I agree. People say he's untouchable but I disagree. Unfortunately I don't think he's going anywhere any time soon. He's been very meh since his contract extension. I hope Seguin doesn't continue down that path...

Gury looks fast. If they send him down now I'm going to be legitimately pissed. It's still a crime that Hanzal is in the lineup over Hintz. Nill is too proud to admit that mistake.

100% serious. I think he's worth more in a year at this point. He's not exactly young anymore.
The Stars demise has been greatly exaggerated.

This is actually pretty unprecedented and has now become a national (international?) story.
Can you imagine if after a Cowboys win, Stephen Jones came out and said that Dak and Zeke were "****ing horse****". And went out of the way to do it?

Not a fan of making those kind of comments publicly. Jamie and Tyler need to step up, sure but you don't pull crap like that. It can have a lasting impact not only on those guys but the entire room and potential free agents or guys with no-trade clauses.
A real problem for the past several years has been the entire team the two Jims have put on the ice. Give your best players other pieces so they don't HAVE to be on all 82 games just to get you a wild card spot.
Sounds to me like the owner is pissed, and Lites is trying to save face by using the media. Because let's face it, if the Stars miss the playoffs again, both Jims will and should lose their jobs.

Benn also said that stuff should be said to a person's face and that Lites hasn't had a conversation with him all season. Basically, Jamie is saying Jim can go F himself.

Funny thing is, Vegas seems to think all of this will at least light a fire under the guys for one night. The line for tonight has been moving more in the Stars favor and is now -220, with an over/under of 6.
I agree with Vegas. I think this does light a fire under their ass . That and getting healthy should move us up the western conference.
Lites is blasting them so the coach can play good cop. Probably not a good way to handle it, but I think the Stars organization has always been a little upset that the media ignores the Stars.

Agreed. The Stars just don't get the same treatment as the other big 3 around here. You lose that outside pressure/scrutiny on the players

I was thinking earlier how Lites claiming to have had meetings and insinuating that he had talked to the players, only to find out he hasn't talked to Jamie or Tyler all season is eerily similar to Nill saying in the offseason that he was having open dialogue with Tyler re: a new contract only to have Tyler reveal that he hadn't heard from the front office all summer.
The Stars media seems largely a collection of cheerleaders and guys who are afraid to rock the boat. It's allowed the players AND management to "skate" on by. If nothing else, Jim Lite's comments are getting some of these guys to question a front office that seems utterly incompetent.
