At that point, the puck is still on the toe of the stick. Or at least still obscured by it

Really good press conference by Jim Nill. It's amazing how many injuries we were dealing with, even in playoffs. If we could have escaped St. Louis, some players may have returned.

Also, it sounds on the radio that everyone is conceding that Benn is declining due to his physically aggressive play. I hope he takes the criticism to heart and works his ass off.

I think we would've done better against the sharks or avalanche compared to the blues. The blues defense is a lot better than those 2 teams. It seems like the blues would just suffocate us at times. Esa signed to a 6 year, $5.8M per contract. I like the move. Very solid D man.
I was hoping Esa's deal would be closer to Klingberg's, but he is certainly worth the money. If we sign Zucc, there will not likely be much more movement. If we don't sign Zucc, we should go after Pat Maroon.

Yeah, this has a serious patriots/eagles feel and I was glad the eagles won.

Should be a good final series. Two systems of hockey that are executing pretty dang well. I'd like to see Boston win it more than the blues I think. And Marchand may be a turd, but he's ridiculously skilled as well. Most agitators lack the skill to be big minute guys, but he can score and piss you off at the same

Yep. St. Louis is a rival, and they have been a pretty good franchise except for not ever winning a cup. One of the Original 6 winning another cup doesn't really move the needle unless they go on a dynasty streak.
I guess this isn't as heartbreaking of a replay to the Blues as the Catch is to Cowboys fans, since they were down 3-0 in 70 when Bobby Orr put the nail in the coffin.
Polak and Janmark get 1 year contract extensions. Janmark needs to have a bounceback season, but Polak was the surprise of the season, considering he was slotted as a #7 D-man. If Johns comes back, that's Klingberg, Lindell, Heiskanen, Johns, Oleksiak and Polak. That's a legit d core.

Sounds like the Stars are close to re-signing Zuccarello. AAV is around $4.5M, which I think is a steal. The only catch is, instead of a 3 year deal (preferable to the team) the deal will likely be 4 to 5 years. It could still fall apart and he could opt to test the waters July 1, but it could also be done in time for the annual party this weekend.
We'll get a better feel for Johns' future depending on what the team does in July. If they go after a top 4 defenseman, it's a good bet that they don't think Johns will be healthy. If they go forward, it's a good sign. The preferred option is a 2nd line forward. The Stars already have their top 3 D-men, and they won't be able to protect any more in next year's expansion draft. They would rather not use a lot of their cap space on a guy they would potentially only have for a year.

Not to mention that a buyout of Val is a definite possibility, if they need a little more wiggle room.
