I told myself I wouldn't make any sweeping generalizations until 10 games in, BUT I'm just about ready to call for Jim Nill's pink slip. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, knew that depth scoring was an issue with this team since the middle of last season.
I can live with early season growing pains with a new coach and a new system, but the scoring issue should have been addressed, and could have been, as early as last season's trade deadline. Either he didn't think depth scoring was an issue, and he's incompetent, or he just refused to part with prospects and draft picks, which he's proven he's not that great at identifying anyway and do nothing to help save his job.
I really wish Nill would work out and still hope Montgomery can pull a rabbit out of his coaching hat, but I'm just about ready to move on from Nill. I imagine ownership is too.

My thoughts exactly. 6 years, 3 coaches, numerous players = same old ***** What has been the one constant? The GM.
Outside of a few elite players (Segs, Benn, Rads, Kling, and eventually Heisky) and a few solid players (Faksa and Lindell) this team lacks talent. You're supposed to build through the draft, but Nill has shown to be horrible in drafting and developing. I'm even starting to lose faith in Nuke
And he tries to bandaid it by signing washed up grit players who just end up being dead weight (Comeau, Polak, Hanzal, Methot, etc).
I don't mind losing if the young guns play and there's a plan and the team is building towards something. But outside of one great regular season Nill's tenure has been a bust.

Sloppy win in my opinion.... LA is horrible on Defense and even their for-check last night was causing us some issues. I am happy seeing the overpaid- overage Spezza scoring. Pitlick on the top line might be worth keeping even after Rads comes back.

Message boards saying Rads is out again tonight with a groin pull. Dude needs to get healthy and not force it. The 2nd and 3rd lines are producing at a good time, and we will need him in the spring to be at 100% when we make our playoff push.
I've been a fan of Shore over the past few seasons because he has a lot of potential. But he's never been able to put it together.
Before the season I said if he's not performing at a second line level we need to package him in a trade deal.
