There is a point where the suppression works or fails. I would thing it's somewhere in those ranges.

Tankers drag fighters/bombers across the Pacific etc. all the time. I think I have read that for a squadron of fighters for instance the typical tanker set up is around 6 as it takes 2 refueling and they have to plan for in case one or two break down. For bombers, more (especially since the KC-10 was idiotically retired, and we don't have even a quarter the KC-46 needed/planned for at this point.)
My only point is that I've tried to follow the tanker trackers before and it's functionally useless to see what is about to happen/is imminent, imho.
