These new mechanics just look like so many additional tools for dungeons.

So, instead of finding weapons randomly lying around, you find random stuff lying around that you have to make into weapons...and they still break.
Pass. Not hard pass yet, but pass.
I hated the gyroscope puzzles, some of them took me forever. There were many times I got some looks from my wife and kid wondering what the hell I was doing contorting my body while holding the controls and looking at the screen.DallasTeleAg said:
I've beat Breath of the Wild 3 times, twice on Master Quest mode. I don't have a big problem with the weapon breaking mechanic. I don't want my Zelda game to be a simple action RPG. I love the puzzles, the exploration, and having to actually think about every encounter. On Master Quest, every enemy camp makes you stop and figure out a strategy.

Took me way to long to think of removing the controllers from the screen when doing those.Max Power said:I hated the gyroscope puzzles, some of them took me forever. Does that flamethrower weapon look familiar to anyone? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/cXt8iL1YVy
Yeah, I'll bet people are being simplistic if they think the Fusion system is only going to be used to make simple things like rock sticks. I'm betting there's a lot of complexity they're adding with that system that they clearly don't want to show in a teaser trailer.Brian Earl Spilner said:
What about...
Turning swords/axes into fire weapons with red chuchu jelly
Ice weapons with white chuchu jelly
Electric weapons with yellow chuchu jelly
Improving swords with ores/gems
Or just experimenting and discovering what different combinations will cause.
To clarify, I began working on my own with Doom/Quake, did not work directly for id Software on those. My work making maps for Doom/Quake got me my first professional job in the games biz. Did not have the pleasure of working with either of the people you mentioned, but my first job was working for John Romero at Ion Storm, the company he founded after leaving id.AgCMT said:
Did you work with Jason Sussman or Bo Harris at Doom?

One of the biggest points of frustration for me on BOTW was when you needed to move something precisely with magnesis. There was no way to rotate the object along different axes, and I'm so glad they've added that. Gonna make things a lot easier when building stuff.

What about that trailer sold you, just curious? It seemed like generic game trailer to me.FightinTexasAg15 said:
I was not sold on the game before this, but that was an epic trailer.

If that trailer didn't get you hyped, it just seems like you're actively trying to dislike this game before it's even out. Don't know what to tell you.
