My point is they have to go to Europe and not stay in the MLS like Zardes, Morris, etc did. That's if they want to play in the Champions league like Dest, MecKenjie, Adams, pulisic, etc.

Everyone has to go to Europe to play in the Champions League. Neymar had to go to Europe to play in the champions league as well.

Yes Europe is more challenging but you still need squad players that aren't stars to round out your teams.

I was replying directly in context to that tweet that a group of MLS players want to play in the Champions league.

Can we talk about Jordan Morris for a second? When he signed with Seattle many lamented, but at that moment he had no left foot and personally I think he would have got chewed up overseas.

Fast forward to now and is there anything left for him to accomplish in MLS? Is there a market for him outside the US? He appears to have worked on his weakness and is an athletic machine.

He has a place in the MNT as well as a super sub.

I expect to see him on our WCQ roster and I would bet he gets interest from Euro clubs this winter.

He could be successful in Europe and should start with the USMNT.

And I'm being serious.

If Reyna plays central then yeah Morris could play the 7 for us

I actually really want him to finally to go to Europe, I absolutely think he could do the same thing there that he has been doing the last 2 years.

I also agree that he is a prototypical super sub, he can come in and instantly impact the game and potentially change the way the other team has to defend.

Just thinking if your an opponents fullback, and Morris comes in around that hour to 70 minute mark, and you just know he's going to physically maul you and run your already tired ass ragged. You'd be hating life.

Yeah. It'll be hard to watch. I hate both Manchester's.

I hope he goes to a big English club and then is loaned out to Sunderland and leads them to a triumphant return to Top Flight.

Imagine what Ted Lasso could do for his game.

Hasn't he made it pretty clear in the past that he doesn't want to go to Europe?

Werder Bremen wasn't it?

Article posted below confirmed it was Werder Bremen.

https://theathletic.com/2255146/2020/12/11/dissecting-jordan-morris-transfer-value-and-where-he-might-go

Pretty good article with more context to the quote tweeted above. Basically, for the right move he'll be all over it. He's due to make about 1.5 million next season in his current contract, so whoever wants him will probably need to beat that considerably to entice him out, which is very doable. The last couple years with his injury and developing his left foot while rehabbing and overall transitioning to being an outright winger instead of striker has overhauled his game, and now is the time to go get paid.

Great read, thanks for the share.

Maybe it's just the success of players we've seen in Germany coloring my view, but somehow I feel like he's more of a Bundesliga guy than a Premier League or Serie A guy.

I'm also all for any American attacking players to go hone their game in the Eredivisie, but I realize he's a bit past that developmental stage.

Yeah he'd score a kajillion and learn nothing on Holland. Either England or Germany will work well for his game.

I think goal scorers plying their trade in Holland is a great thing. If he's scoring goals in the Eredivisie then he'll be more confident for the USMNT. I wouldn't shut the door on it.

I do think he'd be a decent Bundesliga striker

I think Holland is a great league to go to when you are developing. It's still not bad if you are on Ajax or a club that is getting Champions League runs in as well.

This person is a great follow, lots of great videos/visuals to inform on the game. Like with anything else, don't take it as gospel but it's still interesting analysis.

Pretty sure he means coaching or directing them to do. Aka, his job

Early on people complained that Gregg's system was too complex but now he's not teaching them anything? I guess some fans are yearning for a return of Klinsmann's tactical genius
