I grew up in a small town back in the day when soccer wasn't a mainstream sport and no one knew anything about the USMNT. I'm just happy to have people to discuss the player pool with, even if I think they're totally wrong. It's still a new experience to me to argue about the players on the USMNT with other sports fans.

Weird, I just pulled up his stats and he hasn't played for the US since 2016, presumably the Copa that summer. I would have thought he was still playing in the qualifications for wc2018.

He really might be. Lots of guys that have never quite lived up to their potential: Wood, Morris, Johansson, Zardes.

Weah and Sargent are probably the other true strikers in our active pool, Soto has potential as well.

I would argue Wood lived up to his potential but his knees fell apart in the process. He had some really big goals for USNT.

I like the potential of Llanez a lot... But I don't think Weah is going to pan out. Hopefully he proves me wrong.
