May need to adapt the song...remove a letter and do the clap for every goal he scores...

Was reading that there is traction to get some similar song for him off of some 70s disco song. I think we here at Texags should start leading the creative charge and get some better ideas out there. (not sure b-i-n-g-o is it, I'll blame that on the day drinking)

I'm gonna say it right now...sell Firmino if he wants to leave and if Jota keeps anything remotely close to this up. Maybe that's how we raise money for a really good CB?

I think we could get good money in return for Firmino and there's already been rumors that Madrid are interested...let them pay. I think Shaqiri and Minamino are fine backups and Minamino could press for game time in the very near future. We need to get money for Firmino while he has value.

I love Bobby to death, but I agree with this 100%. We'll probably miss him more than we can estimate right now, but now is the right time to move on if we're going to.

Hard Veto. We've basically spent an entire year talking about how we have absolutely no cover for Bobby. If we sell Bobby, we might spend another year talking about how we have absolutely no cover for Jota. Great teams need depth. Bobby is a great teammate, hard worker and a selfless player. There is no price in return that could equal the uniqueness of his value.

Money is just a place holder for a player that you will eventually purchase. My guess is that Liverpool would end up spending the money they earned selling Bobby on a player just like Bobby. Might as well keep the genuine article.

Bravo! this X10000

We need to seize the moment with the amount of talent we have right now. Did we all just forget how long it took to win the league again? Bobby (I think) helps set a culture of selflessness that only brings out more in Salah/Mane - you can't buy culture. Klopp sets the standard - but he needs guys like Henderson, Firmino, A. Robertson to see it implemented throughout the team

I understand your argument but Bobby's value is high right now may not be as much in the future, given his age and also Jota's form. I love Bobby and I love the way the team plays with him on the field, but we are going to have to turn over this roster slowly but surely.

Current ages:

Hendo - 30
Gini - 30 in a week
Thiago, VVD, Matip, Firmino, Shaqiri - 29
Mane and Salah - 28
Ox and Fabinho - 27

That's an aging squad. We have to cash in on players at the right time, especially since this is not a team backed by middle eastern oil princes. Klopp and co will have to make hard decisions and I think this is one that could be justified IF Jota's form is consistently high.

I would normally agree with you. Selling guys like Torres, Alonso, and Coutinho made sense to me. I recall thinking we should sell high on Sturridge. I even vaguely pondered it with Stevie G (sacrilegious!).

This situation is different though. Liverpool is a kind of "good" that I rarely get to see or enjoy. This particular team is historically great. I've been rather unlucky with my choice of sports team (Houston sports and the Aggies...). During the Charlie Adam/Andy Carroll/Ricke Lambert days, Liverpool fit in perfectly with my unloveable gang of losers. Then Klopp showed up. Since his arrival, I've never cheered for a team so relatively good, nor do I think I ever will again. To be honest, I just want to live in this moment as long as possible. If the team crumbles in 4 years, oh well...it will be 4 incredible years.

You can chase "sports" for decades just trying to find a team that is consistently championship quality. When you find it, don't be in a hurry to break it up. I think we have at least 2 years of peak Bobby. I want all of it.

1-1 at the half. Such an interesting tactical experiment going down here. Really fun game.

The tactics in this one are definitely fun to watch. I was wondering what Klopp would do and I love the idea. Jota and Mane can cover the sides on defense and they all attack on offense...fun to watch.

Just holding we don't get caught on a break if everyone is pressing up front!

I will take the points. Loved the way we played in the first 30 minutes. Definitely seemed like our energy waned in the second half though. Nice to get a two week break and hope TAA injury isn't too bad.

Random thought I just had, we play at old Trafford in week 34. I don't think there's any way that we can clinch the title that early this season but how awesome would that be to clinch #20 in their house?

My way too early projection has it coming down to the end of the season however. Liverpool and City both have pretty soft schedules in May.

Nope. Following international break, you're playing CB and I'll be at LB (assuming you're taller than I am; if not we'll switch positions).

My wife's going to be pissed that I'm getting to England in 2020 and she's not. We had to cancel the trip to see her family in July.

Oh well, I'll bring her some tea bags back and she'll be happy.
