Can't remember if I've posted this here before, but Ted Lasso (on Apple+) is incredible and you should watch it. Above and beyond that fact, there's a cool cover of You'll Never Walk Alone by Marcus Mumford that's featured in the final episode of season one. May not be your cup of tea but I liked it. (No spoilers in this video but if you Google the song you may get show spoilers as it's featured at a pretty crucial juncture.)
Our confidence is shattered. Have zero ideas offensively and our service from wide is garbage. Not winning any trophies this season unless something changes drastically and quickly.
Exactly. We have no clue in attack right now. It seems slow with no energy. There is nothing through the middle of the pitch. The only thing we're doing is sending in garbage crosses to the middle of the box with 5-6 defenders. The last 6 matches are the blueprint and everyone is just going to copy/paste until we can break it down. I think our biggest loss right now is Jota. Need him back yesterday.
Yeah, Jota's offensive creativity really helped mask the funk our normal front three were maybe already going through. Losing him to injury right in the middle of his hot streak, losing VVD for the season and losing Thiago for over a month (both in the same game!) was just overly harsh.
We're in for a battle to finish in the top four now unfortunately.
We definitely need Jota back to put some pressure on the front 3. No job should be safe at this point
We also might need to start running a 4-2-3-1 again as I felt it worked great a couple years ago? Shaqiri on the right, Mane on the left, and Firmino right under Salah.
This has been a disappointing season but I'm not going to blame all the injuries to the back...we can't seem to score a damn goal right now.
I thought we looked better and more confident at points, but our back line got exposed (which is not surprising and really unaddressable at this point). Glad we scored a couple, sorry to lose, but it's probably for the best that we focus on finishing in the top four.
