I don't understand where they are going to squeeze these games in. All managers already moan about their fixture schedule, this seems to exasperate it.

Also, I guess it's better to be in it than not. I get the purity of relegation but if you see 10 of your European rivals moving towards this - how do you not jump in the train given the money involved?

Without the 4 premiere league teams this is dead in the water. The German clubs will struggle to get approval due to ownership structure.

IMO you need the English clubs to make it work.

It's clear the American ownership groups like the guaranteed payouts that come with automatic qualification (I get it), but I think it is mostly a bluff to get more champions league concessions.

The arrogance of these teams is staggering. They get to make and additional $200+ million a season (or more from the ESL) than the other Premier League teams and then just waltz back into the league like nothing happened. Ridiculous.

I hope that this is a well orchestrated bluff to get the changes to the Champions League that they want.

Sounds like Arsenal's ownership is one of the ring leaders in this whole thing. Ixd rather watch us struggling where we are now with a rebuild than watch us become the perennial bottom feeders of some super league. I have zero faith our board would spend the 300m wisely enough to make us competitive

My thought as an Arsenal fan: Arsenal has no right to go out and say "lets stop pretending everyone else in Europe can compete with us." On the money front, I agree with the above. It won't solve the deeper issue at Arsenal.

Same thing with AC and Inter Milan. Those idiots aren't that special and will be bankrupt again in 8 years.

This is definitely a team that deserves relegation free big cash infusions in a Super League.

I didn't watch, but I'd almost rather put a practice dummy in at CB than lose Fab from the midfield.

Klopp was also critical of the move prior to the game.

I'm only a casual Liverpool fan so I don't have that much skin in the game which is to say I don't care either way if the Super League happens or not.

I just find following the EPL more fun if you also have a secondary goal of trying to qualify for the Champions League if you're not in the running to win the league.

As it stands now, Liverpool has already been eliminated from winning the EPL but is still fighting for a spot in the top 4 to qualify for CL. With the Super League, what else is there to play for with six games to go?

Might as well just make the Super League another league instead of it being a Champions League-like competition. It would be less insulting to the domestic leagues in England, Spain, and Italy.

Haven't seen official word that LFC is out of the ESL, but all the players posted this on their social media just a minute or two ago.

Just saw it and I love it. Although they don't really have any downside for posting it. They aren't going to get fired over it.
