NBC deciding to put those games on Peacocks makes me not want to subscribe. I did NBC Gold the last two seasons because it's understandable that certain games won't be the main attraction. When you put the Chelsea and Arsenal games on it, you are now trying to ransom fans into buying your service.

I don't know. They replaced Gold with Peacock premium. Same features but a little bit lower price. Peacock premium can be standalone without a cable subscription. Was Gold that way too or did you need cable plus a monthly upcharge to access Gold?

If I recall correctly, an EPL only Gold subscription was like $50 for the full season if you bought it at the right time. Their streaming platform (i.e. the tech they used) was probably the worst around for watching from a web browser, which is how I used it to watch games on my work PC. Maybe they upgraded that with Peacock.

Either way, I've already made up my mind not to purchase this. This is a very anti-consumer move and it makes me want to reject anything and everything NBC sells from now on.

Long story short, we're probably not going to make any splash player purchases unless we less a big name, but that's okay as the club is trying to avoid taking out large loans and hurting future investments.

I think the teams approach is perfect, I'd have liked to have landed Pulisic as a sub for one of the big 3 - but other than that, it would just be solidifying the bench. The only place where the team is weak is at CB opposite VVD - but I think Matip or Gomez does the job. Hell if they can't, throw Milner in there - he'd figure it out

I'm ok without splashing a lot of cash in light of the financial uncertainties that lie ahead. In fact I think it's prudent as we don't have unlimited petrodollars if things don't work out. Of course I also thought it was prudent for the Mavericks to not splash cash after their title in 2011 with the upcoming cba negotiations coming up and then they wandered around in the wilderness for a decade and wasted the back half of Dirk's career.

FSG has a track record with the Red Sox of building championship teams in multiple cycles. Next year will be interesting to see whether any of the other "big 6" clubs are actually catching up. Despite the points gap, I don't consider Man City to be that far behind Liverpool from a talent perspective. They had a huge leadership void when Vincent Kompany left and they had some major injuries along the back 4 that led to a lot of head-scratching results. I'm assuming they will be back at it again this season.

I do think Thiago Alcantara would be a really good signing and I hope it gets pushed through. It feels like they are playing a game of chicken with Bayern over the fee, or they are waiting to see if any legit offers come in for some of the fringe players to free up some cash. Possibly both.

I've typically just gone to a pub, found a stream, or just slept in and accepted it when games I was interested in were on Gold.

Maybe they think folks are staying away from bars, and thus more likely to pay out for the premium service.

I just finished the first season of Sunderland til I Die and have moved on to the Leeds series on Amazon. I really want them to be successful now that they're up, just not tomorrow.

As I was putting my kids to bed last night I told them Wed watch Liverpool in the morning. My almost 4 year old daughter said "With Alisson Becker!"

Agreed. Really surprised at the errors in this one. Klopp seemed to understand the type of team Leeds are but the team needed to get punched in the mouth to hear it.

TAA got absolutely shut down, VVD made mistakes...weird game.

Every time we play and Hendo isn't at 100% it hammers home how important he is.

Escape is the right word. Leeds fully deserved at least a point. I personally felt like we expected to throw our PL medals on the pitch and watch Leeds beg for mercy.
