Regarding the away turquoise kit, I saw it on the women the other day and it looked pretty cool. If we're going to have a successful season, we need to come up with a catchy nickname for them though a la the Pumpkin Spice (2017-18) and Purple Drank (2018-19) kits.
They remind me of the Nirvana Nevermind album cover. Also reminds me of Moana.
The Nevermind Moanas is a pretty deep cut.
Bayern confirm Thiago is LFC-bound.
I hope this doesn't mean we are selling Gini and/or Brewster.

Shaq is one of my favorite players over the last decade but he just doesn't fit in the 4-3-3 system. 4-2-3-1, yes, but we rarely employed that last year.
I'm fine with Brewster leaving too because I just don't see him fitting in as a replacement for Firmino. They're just different players as I see him as a traditional 9

I think Minamino is the perfect sub for Bobby. I'd like to see Brewster come on for a midfielder if we need a goal. Poaching is a skill.
I'd hate any of them to go, but I agree Shaq/Wilson/Grujic should be the first to go. My gut says Gini runs out his contract and either signs a Bosman in January and/or leaves next summer. Having basically only 5 midfielders (Gini, Hendo, Thiago, Fab, Keita) to rotate with Jones, Milner, Ox to fill in the gaps/cups would be great, but I agree, we've probably got to make some room to fund Thiago.
I love Shaq but I feel like he's barely on the club. Wasn't even used for either of the cups last year. Played 3' against Napoli in the CL (and only in the bench for two more CL games), and was only on the squad for half of the league games with 7 league appearances. I'll take the money if someone wants him.
This is a dumb question but where does Thiago's Spanish citizenship come from? His folks are Brazilian and he was born in Italy. Was it because he spent some time growing up in Spain while his dad was playing?

We snuck him from Ajax for basically nothing 2 years ago. The kid was supposed to be a cb, but didn't keep growing. Nice piece off business. I think he might be the 3rd string CB at the youth level. Van den Berg and Billy the kid seemed to have passed him up. He also has VVD, Gomez, Matip and Phillips ahead of him at the senior level.

How is he better than Timo Werner
We couldn't splash for Werner because we would've had to pay the ~50M release clause in a lump sum. Wolves allowed a creative payment plan that asked for a smaller percentage of the overall price to be paid this year.
Their flexibility made this deal a no-brainer during COVID.

Talent is important, but so is attitude.
Liverpool needed a player who would fit in, not rock the boat. I like Werner but he doesn't have the skins on the wall to automatically put Sadio, Mo or Bobby on the bench.
I wanted Werner badly, but I'm pretty sure LFC just made the right move.

Werner was a permanent fixture for a CL club so it's not really fair to fault him for wanting to go somewhere where that can continue vs Jota being happy to be move from an EL to a CL club.AG@RICE said:FriedTex said:

That said, I agree with the rest of what you said. I think he would've eventually earned a spot, but it would've been irresponsible to give it to him from the get go.
