Finishing on this team is just a train wreck. Mbeumo is the only player who seems capable of it. Cunha isn't hitting those long range shots anymore just like the law of averages said he wouldn't. If he's out for a spell, it might be a blessing. I'm not saying he's bad or will be bad. He does a lot in the build up. But that's not really our problem at the moment offensively. Build up and creating chances is the least of our issues.

Well we deserved the win, defense has to get better, keeping has to get batter and finishing has to get better.

I was implying that our players should be better at hitting empty nets and shooting from 5 yards out with only the goalie to beat but if you can make that happen, then I'm fine with that too.

I will say this about Emi. He's a jackass but he doesn't strike me as likely to be phased a lot by the environment at the club or by the pressure that comes with it. He gives zero effs. And Argentina goalie is on par pressure wise as United goalie at this point. That's probably the most compelling argument for him over Lemmens.
Worth mentioning that for all the crisis and toxicity in the media around United, they are often to a better start than City. That game after the international break is going to be huge for both teams. United can probably take some comfort from a draw, but City really need a win.
I don't like Emi Martinez. He screws up a lot. He's gotten a lot of milage out of the World Cup PK win, but everyone forgets that Mbappe scored a hat trick. And he had a poor game against the Dutch and their amazing striker Wout Weghorst. Let's be real: that World Cup really was mostly Messi, and Emi Martinez was more of a cog.

They had to do something. And as long as it wasn't Martinez it works for me. That would have been like signing Pickford.
According to the Athletic, Emi was considered and the positive mentioned was that "Martinez's character was seen as a plus by Amorim". But his wages and Villa's fee meant that it was always going to be hard.

Bayindir is the more likely option but perhaps some Turkish club can be convinced to take Onana. But it almost certainly will be Bayindir.
