Amorim makes the worst subs every time we are trying to hold a lead. Every freaking time
If we're honest, that's at least four games in a row where United have looked pretty clueless offensively. Bad against a bad Tottenham team but lucked out with a point on a late header (2 shots on goal). Lost at home and scored zero goals while playing up a man for 75 minutes against Everton. Managed to beat Palace but off of two set piece goals and nothing created in run of play. Draw at home to a relegation team. It's kind of amazing we're even as high as 8th.
It seems more like the little winning run was the exception rather than the rule. I'm back to thinking Amorim probably can't get it done.

English football just isn't much fun to watch. It's a defensive slow slog punctuated with stupid "physical big boy" fouls. If you can't score from a set piece you mostly can't score.

Sports are pretty simple. Winning at home is a requirement to be a good team. If you don't consistently win at home, you won't ever win anything of importance. Amorim's home record is abysmal.
Well, beyond winning at home, as a general rule if you want to be in a Champion's League spot or close to it, you really need to win half your games in the League. I haven't gone back and done any rigorous analysis at all, but it feels like that's just about where you have to be in order to be on the line where you are maybe getting CL or you are maybe just missing it and getting Europa. All we had to do to have won 7 of 14 was beat one of the bottom 4 at home to keep pace with that line (which isn't anything actually glorious, but let's be honest, we don't have a lot to go for this year).

And I say "bottom 4" like it is a thing just because I am pretty sure Wolves and Burnley are getting relegated, and it's a competition between West Ham and Leeds for the last spot. Forest aren't that far ahead, but I believe in them more than the others (if they do go down, they have a number of players people will try to sign; seems everyone including us is going for Anderson regardless, but Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Sels, Murillo, they would all be desired by other teams in my opinion).
I saw Amorim's comments on Mainoo this morning, but I missed that he was saying that Bruno is always fit. Ok, fair enough, but yesterday he subbed off Cunha, Bruno basically moved more into that position, and Ugarte moved into the double pivot. Right?

My son and I went to the game at Palace last weekend. It was a blast, we were in the home stands and had to bite our tongues the whole match to keep from being attacked by hooligans.

Mainoo hasn't looked great this season when he's played but he's also played so sparingly that it's hard to judge him properly. But it's pretty clear that Amorim doesn't rate him and is never going to rate him. The "Bruno is never injured" excuse is a red herring. He's not sitting on the bench because Bruno plays 3500 minutes a season. He's sitting on the bench because United had other priorities last transfer window beyond finding Mainoo's replacement. My guess is that come January or, more likely, next summer, they'll go and get a 1 or 2 midfielders they actually want and sell Mainoo. I'd be shocked to see him in an United uniform this time next season if Amorim is still the manager in August.
