I'll be honest, as bad as the second half of season three was, I *am* looking forward to revisiting as a refresher. It'll be fun to catchup again and prep for whatever they're planning.
That said, again, I just don't know how any of the above point to any kind of compelling story going forward. We know that a version of Delores is back (there was one Delores pearl left, I think), as there are quite a few season four set pics out there with Evan Rachel Wood in costume, back in the future world. But I just don't really care about the plight of her clones at this point, like, at all. As premature as her death felt, her story should be done. Aaron Paul is back as well, and I guess his story could be interesting, in a post-apocalyptic world of sorts, but I'm not really all that intrigued by any of that. And maybe Bernard in the Sublime could be cool, but what he's even doing there, or why that's of interest to the plot, is beyond me.
One thing that gives me encouragement are the few glimpses of footage we got in that HBO 2022 preview trailer, where it looks like they've maybe kind of hit the reset button in a way, and are moving past some of these plot points? For instance, there's a shot of Aaron Paul in a futuristic city, but it's clean/not rioting, and everyone around him is a frozen host. I have absolutely no idea what that's even about, but maybe they're able to retool some of this in cool and interesting ways?
