I'm really enjoying this season. Awesome to see the script flipped and the hosts now control the humans. Curious to see what happened to the wider world during that 20+ year span the hosts took control.

What's up with human William? Wasn't his throat cut in episode 1? And since he was already like 80 years old, is he now 110 years?
Westworld's absolutely abysmal cratering in the ratings wasn't completely surprising but it's still pretty shocking how steep it is pic.twitter.com/HfDFHtcFc0

There's definitely been a huge decline in viewership since season 3 (you can tell just by online engagement!) but, assuming this chart is TV viewership only, I'd be curious to see how much of the dip is owed to season 4 being the first one since the launch of HBO Max

Another solid episode, it did feel like there was some filler in this one but the layers keep getting peeled back, this show is such a slow burn. I really loved the interactions with Hale and William, especially seeing the cracks appearing with Hale in the form of her self mutilation on the arm. Makes you think of the whole concept of if God made man in his image, what does that say about God? Now the hosts are making man in their imagine, who were an image of themselves, the problem with man is becoming their own problem, creation coming full circle.
Unless I'm missing something has it been said that the hosts turned NYC into their own Westworld, or is it just understood?
I'm really looking forward to Maeve being brought back and interacting with Caleb the host.
I believe the intention is that it made him appear dead, so the drone triggered the room to be burnt.Quinn said:
What was the finger ***** about? I missed how that triggered Caleb's escape.
I've thought this was a route they were taking all along. They definitely didn't give Caleb a daughter with that skin color for no reason.TCTTS said:
Btw, with Maeve and Frankie teaming up at the end, in the Westworld saloon of all places, I'm starting to wonder if Frankie is almost meant to be Maeve's surrogate daughter in a way. Not plot-wise, but more in terms of the "fate" of the show, if that makes sense. The shot of the two of them standing together at the bar, with the exact same hair and skin tone, just really gave me the distinct impression that Frankie is almost meant to be Maeve's second chance at having a daughter of sorts, considering Maeve lost her daughter and Frankie has lost both of her parents. Which is cool and even poignant because it was kind of implied a couple episodes ago that Caleb and Maeve may or may not have had a more-than-friends relationship at one point. I'm not at all suggesting a Blade Runner 2049 situation, I'm just saying that for Maeve to get to feel a kind of maternal instinct for the daughter of a human she loved, after all this time, is pretty cool. And the fact that they now get to go kick ass together makes it even better.
